General from Darwin race meeting Monday 25 April, 2022
Race 4 – Bench Mark NT Handicap 1100m
Apprentice J Hampson (KRONOS) was cautioned under AR132(6)(d) for unnecessarily using her whip on two occasions when her mount was showing no response.
Race 5 – 0-58 Handicap 1100m
Stewards inquired into the circumstances resulting in apprentice J Hampson being dislodged from KOA shortly after the start. After viewing the patrol films and considering evidence from apprentice J Hampson and jockey J Todd (CHIEF MONDO) it was ascertained that near the 1050m KOA shifted in marginally and the geldings’ near fore leg contacted the off fore leg of CHIEF MONDO and as a result KOA mistrode and knuckled dislodging the rider. Stewards were of the opinion that this incident was accidental and no further action was taken.
