ROSTI (C Spry) – Bumped with another runner at the 400m and again on straightening.

OUR BARTY (W Davis) – Bumped and unbalanced when under pressure at the 400m.

Race 2: Benchmark 76 Handicap 1300m

SKY MUSTER (C Spry) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that his mount was under pressure mid race and failed to finish the race off as anticipated. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

FEDERAL COURT (W Davis) – Lay outwards through the middle stages.

MARBEL DUKE (B Davis) – Raced wide throughout.

HOOK ME UP (P Crich) – Raced wide throughout.

MOORE ALPHA (J Todd) – Failed to muster early speed.

Race 3: Benchmark 54 Handicap 1300m

Stewards interviewed dual licensee C Spry in relation to his riding instructions as he had multiple runners in the event.

MAKIN THE GRADE (M Hagley) – Reared in the barriers after being loaded and subsequently underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to compete.

KARMONAARON (R Vigar) – Slow into stride.

WHAT A STRYKER (P Crich) – Slow to muster early speed.

General – Following this event jockey B Davis became indisposed through illness and Stewards approved the following replacements:

Race 4 – PAGHMAN K Gladwin

Race 5 – TACITURN R Oakford (permitted to ride 1kg overweight as no rider could make the allotted weight)

Race 4: 0 – 58 Handicap 1200m

SABAI SABAI was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 4.03pm when the mare sustained a laceration to the near fore leg.

SHE RA (J Todd) – Shifted out slightly at the 700m and bumped with another runner becoming unbalanced.

PAGHMAN (K Gladwin) – Fractious in the barriers and commenced awkwardly losing ground. Failed to muster early speed. Impeded when improving into restricted room near the 150m.

MADAME DUPORTH (P Denton) – Bumped and unbalanced near the 700m.

Race 5: 0 – 64 Handicap 1200m

Stewards interviewed trainer P Cole in relation to his riding instructions with his stable having multiple runners in the event.

STRATEGIC JOURNEY (J Todd) after being fractious in the gates sat down in the barriers and was declared a late scratching at 5.30pm.

Stewards ordered that all bets wagered on STRATEGIC JOURNEY be refunded and all successful bets placed prior to 5.30pm were subject to the following deductions –

LARRICONI 7c win 7c place

TACITURN 7c place

LUCKY LESLIE 9c place

Trainer P Cole was advised that STRATEGIC JOURNEY must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again.

As the remainder of the field had to be removed from the barriers during this incident and then reloaded after the late withdrawal, the start time of this race was delayed approximately 7 minutes.

WINDFOLA (M Hagley) – Raced wide throughout.

HEY CHARLIE (B Huppatz) – Steadied when placed in restricted room passing the 400m.

SNOWY BLACK (P Denton) – Raced wide throughout.

PLENARY (V Arnott) – Trainer J Manning subsequently reported that an endoscopy revealed the mare to be suffering from a respiratory condition and will require veterinary treatment.

DREAM PASSENGER (P Crich) – Slow into stride.
