2020 Barrier Draw – Great Northern Darwin Cup

The barrier draw for the 2020 Great Northern Darwin Cup will be conducted at 11.30am sharp on Friday, July 31 on the ground floor of the new public stand at the Darwin Turf Club.
A representative nominated by the connections of each acceptor in the Great Northern Darwin Cup will be requested to select their barrier.
The barrier draw will be conducted by way of random selection of each final acceptor in the field with the nominated representative of each runner then selecting which barrier they prefer from those barrier positions remaining available for selection.
Conditions:
The draw for barriers will be conducted in the following manner;
1. A person appointment by the Darwin Turf Club will draw at random each horse in the field
2. As each horse is drawn the nominated representative for connections will be called upon to select the barrier of their choice from those remaining available for selection
3. Once the nominated representative selects a barrier such horse will start from that barrier (subject to scratchings) and no amendments will be permitted
4. It will be the responsibility of the nominated representative to select a barrier when called upon
5. The connections of each final acceptor in the 2020 Great Northern Darwin Cup will be required to nominate their representative to the TRNT Stewards by no later than 4pm the day before (Thursday, July 30, 2020) and this information will be officially recorded.
6. In the case where a trainer has more than one acceptor in the race, he or she cannot be the nominated representative of connections to select a barrier position
7. In the event that the nominated representative is not present when their horse is drawn they forfeit the right to select a barrier and will automatically receive the last barrier available
The barrier draw will be supervised by the TRNT Stewards who will adjudicate upon any matter raised. The Darwin Turf Club and the connections of all final acceptors will be bound by any such decision.
