Notice to Trainers – APVMA recall notice update
On 18 August 2020, Thoroughbred Racing Northern Territory (TRNT) posted a Notice to Trainers which noted that the Australian Pesticide and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) had issued a recall notice to Carbine Chemicals Pty Ltd (the Company) on 30 July 2020 in relation to specific unregistered products (the APVMA Recall Notice).
TRNT is aware that on 9 September 2020, the Company notified Racing Victoria that it is appealing the decision by the APVMA to issue the APVMA Recall Notice, and that the Australian Administrative Tribunal has stayed the operation of the APVMA Recall notice.
TRNT again takes the opportunity to remind trainers of the relevant Rules of Racing in relation to unregistered substances, namely AR 252.
TRNT will post a further Notice to Trainers when made aware of any progress with respect to this matter.
