Race 1 B&S Home Timber & Hardware Handicap 1200 metres

WINDSOR CUP (W Kerford) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

CHIMA (L Crow) – Bumped with another runner at the 250m.

DANCING POETESS (B Huppatz) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

MAUDY (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly. Bumped with another runner at the 250m.

PRINCESS LEAH (D Morgan) – Commenced awkwardly. Brushed with the running rail on several occasions about the 900m and the 650m.Inclined to lay inwards down the length of the straight under pressure with rider becoming unbalanced.

General: Stewards interviewed apprentice Morgan in the presence of his master Mr Connor in relation to him becoming unbalanced on his mount over the final 200m. After reviewing the footage from different angles, Stewards along with his master provided tutelage as to him being able to ride his mounts out to the line with more balance.

Race 2: DM Plastics- Aquamate Tanks Handicap 1200 metres

Stewards interviewed trainer G Connor in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue his riders bearing in mind he had multiple runners in this event.

LE COMMANDANT (D Morgan) – Rolled inwards about the 300m.

THAT’S JUSTIFIED (W Kerford) – Bumped with another runner at the 300m.

RHYTHM OF CUBA (L Crow) – Shifted outwards off heels at the 300m to obtain clear running and in doing so bumped with another runner.

WINGARD’S MARK (K Gladwin) – Steadied off heels at the 700m when racing forward.

Race 3: Senturion Steel – Bushman Tanks Handicap 1100 metres

M Hagley replaced R Vigar as the rider of REMEMBER RAZOR after that rider was found to be over-weight.

HEART OF RED (J Todd) – Commenced a little awkwardly getting its head up.

TEA TREE GULLY (D Morgan) – Inclined to lay inwards under pressure about the 200m. Rider reminded of his obligations to ensure he rides his mounts out fully to the line.

REMEMBER RAZOR (M Hagley) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 4: Territory Rural McPherson – Morrissey & Co Handicap 1100 metres

BIT OF A FLIRT ($41) was a late withdrawal at 5:41pm by order of the Stewards after refusing to go to the barriers. Trainer P Gardner was advised that prior to racing again, the mare must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards, with the emphases being on going to the barriers.

With no book-maker on course, Stewards were not required to announce betting deductions.

TOFFIATO (D Morgan) – Inclined to lay inwards under pressure about the 200m.

BON JET (W Kerford) – After a disappointing performance, a veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near-side fore. On further examination it was revealed the gelding’s near-side front shoe had broken in half which may have been a contributing factor to the gelding pulling up lame. Trainer C Cook was advised that prior to the gelding again starting in a race or trial, she must produce a veterinary certificate of soundness satisfactory to the Stewards.

COMBAT WARRIOR (L Crow) – Slow into stride.

Race 5: Ladbrokes Multimaker Handicap 1400 metres

TAN TAT BLAZE was a late withdrawal at 5:57pm after its rider R Vigar became indisposed through illness and the trainer was not satisfied that there was another suitable rider available.

With no book-maker on course, Stewards were not required to announce betting deductions.

TWISTING TYPHOON (L Crow) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure at the top of the straight. After a disappointing performance, a post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.

RIGHT HERE (B Huppatz) – Raced wide throughout.

HOWNOWBROWNCOW (W Kerford) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner on jumping.

General: R Vigar was advised that prior to accepting race rides again, he must produce a medical certificate of fitness satisfactory to the Stewards.

Stewards opened an inquiry into trainer D Oxlade not attending the Stewards office when requested to do so at the race meeting held at Pioneer Park on Sunday 18th November.

Evidence was taken from D Oxlade.

Stewards subsequently found Mr Oxlade guilty of a charge under AR175(p).

The specifics being that at the race meeting held on the above date, he refused to comply with a direction of an official when he was asked to attend the Stewards office on that day.

Mr Oxlade was fined $200 and notified of his right of appeal.

Post-race samples were taken from all winners.
