Stewards inquired into an incident which occurred into the first turn after WINGARD lost ground after its rider took hold. Evidence was taken from R Vigar (AMERICAN STAR), W Davis (OUR BARTY), and J Todd (WINGARD). It was established that WINGARD racing up in between runners heading in to the first turn, became unbalanced and over reacted when its rider took hold getting its head up and losing ground. Stewards were satisfied that no one rider rode in a careless manner and took no further action.
