From DTC meeting Wednesday 3 April, 2019 – Race 1 0-58 1300m
Stewards today inquired into the reason for apprentice J Philpot being dislodged from VIDDARR after the race. It was established that after passing the winning post VIDDARR shifted out slightly and the geldings off shoulder made contact with the near side hip of DIVISIONAL (B Davis) which had also shifted ground. As a result of this contact VIDDARR became unbalanced and blundered, dislodging the rider. Stewards were satisfied that the incident was accidental and that no rider was at fault.
Race 1: 0-64 1200m
BON AIRE (M Hart) – Bumped and unbalanced on multiple occasions leaving the 200m.
IRON LOTUS (B Davis) – Following the unplaced performance a post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have returned with an elevated heart rate and to have sustained a self inflicted laceration to the near hind pastern. Cast the off fore plate in running.
EMJYE (B Huppatz) – Raced wide throughout.
NICCOROSSA (K Cross) – Shifted inwards to secure a clear run leaving the 200m and bumped with and unbalanced another runner. Rider was cautioned and advised to be fully clear when shifting ground in future.

Race 2: 0-58 1100m
KARMONAARON (P Shiers) – Bumped at the start.
FEATHERS OF HOPE (J Todd) – Bounded and lost ground at the start.
PANDAS CHOICE (B Huppatz) – Tightened for room and checked near the 650m.
CAITLINS ANGEL (V Arnott) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Raced wide throughout.
General – On inquiry jockey K Gladwin (ANSINNA) was found guilty of a charge under AR131(a) for engaging in careless riding with the specifics that near the 650m he did permit his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear resulting in PANDA’S CHOICE (B Huppatz) being tightened for room and checked by its rider. Jockey K Gladwin has his license to ride in races suspended for 1 NT meeting to expire after 20 April, 2019.

Race 3: 0-70 1000m
CULZEAN (J Philpot) – Cast the near hind plate in running. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near hind. Trainer G Lefoe was advised that he must present a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to racing again.
JOLLY BOY (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that he was instructed to ride vigorously to take up a forward position but when unable to lead he had been obliged to race wide with no cover and consequently the gelding yielded ground in the straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Race 4: Maiden 1300m
BORLUNG (V Arnott) – Raced wide from the 500m.
COUNT OF ESSEX (K Gladwin) – Raced wide throughout.
MOTOMIC (P Shiers) – Steadied at the 800m.
JOKER POKER (K Cross) – Commenced awkwardly.
FRANULA (C Spry) – Rider granted permission to ride 1kg overweight as no other jockey could make the allotted weight.

Race 5: BM54 1300m
Stewards communicated with trainer P Cole in relation to his riding instructions as his stable had multiple runners in this event.
VIDARR (J Philpot) was declared a late scratching at 4.37pm by order of the Stewards after the gelding sustained an injury to its head when being prepared for transport to the race meeting. Trainer C Conron was advised that he must present a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to racing again.
DESXIRI (K Gladwin) – Lay outwards when tested with the whip and bumped with another runner at the 150m.
RESTLESS (M Hart) – Commenced awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
DEIVISIONAL (B Davis) – Held up for clear running passing the 500m.
BETLEY (K Cross) – Slow into stride. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
