HOLOGRAM (R Vigar) – Raced a little ungenerously from the 1000m to the 800m. Rider reported that the gelding resented the kick-back whilst racing along the rails.
BAGGINS (V Arnott) – Inclined to lay inwards under pressure from the top of the straight.
PRINCESS LEAH (D Morgan) – Commenced very awkwardly and knuckled on jumping causing its rider to become unbalanced losing both stirrups and unable to ride his mount competitively throughout the race.

AMERICAN STAR declared a non starter acting under AR204(1) when fractious in the barriers and rearing getting front leg caught on gate as the start was effected losing considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities or injuries from the mishap.
Stewards ordered that all bets wagered on AMERICAN STAR were to be refunded with the following betting deductions applicable to all successful wagers.
