Race 1 Celebrating Our Life Members Handicap 1200 metres

Stewards interviewed trainer L Gillett in relation to the riding instructions she intended to issue her riders bearing in mind she had multiple runners in this event.

CHIMA (L Crow) – Bumped on jumping.

WOOGIE (B Huppatz) – Slow into stride. Rider reported the he felt the mare was under pressure throughout the event and was disappointed with its performance. A post -race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

ROYAL PARADE (J Todd) – Bumped on jumping.

ROSTI (J Babarovich) – Slow into stride and hampered between runners shortly after.

 

Race 2: Andrew Doyle Maiden Plate 1100 metres

Stewards interviewed trainer L Gillett in relation to the riding instructions she intended to issue her riders bearing in mind she had multiple runners in this event.

MODERNA’S ARROW (D Morgan) – Raced up onto heels about the 1000m and mistrode whilst being restrained momentarily becoming unbalanced.

NONE SO BRIGHT (J Todd) – Commenced a little awkwardly. Bumped on several occasions at the 1000m when momentarily tightened between runners.

UNDAUNTED (C Spry) – Commenced awkwardly. Inclined to lay outwards under pressure from the 600m.

MAHIR (J Babarovich) – Tightened and inconvenienced between runners at the 1000m.

RAWTEKK (W Kerford) – Slow into stride. Commenced to shift inwards shortly after jumping and bumped with another runner at the 1000m.

KUMMERLINGS (L Crow) – Obliged to race wide throughout.

General: on inquiry W Kerford (RAWTEKK) was reprimanded for careless riding under AR131 for allowing his mount to shift ground inwards momentarily tightening MAHIR (J Babarovich) and NONE SO BRIGHT (J Todd) on his inside.

 

Race 3: Captain Morgan Handicap 1100 metres

Stewards interviewed trainer L Gillett in relation to the riding instructions she intended to issue her riders bearing in mind she had multiple runners in this event.

MIGHTY MICK (D Morgan) – Tightened for room along the rails approaching the 800m before having to take restrain his mount and losing ground.

MAGNUS BAY (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly.

DUVET (W Kerford) – Steadied off heels for a number of strides before having to angle outwards at the 800m.

BON JET (W Davis) – Commenced to shift inwards from about the 900m.

REMEMBER RAZOR (R Vigar) – Commenced awkwardly and knuckled slightly.

General: On inquiry W Davis (BON JET) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131. The specifics being that approaching the 800m he did allow his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear of Duvet (W Kerford) who was taken inwards whilst restraining his mount onto MIGHTY MICK (D Morgan) who was tightened for room along the rails having to check his mount and losing ground. W Davis had his licence to ride in races suspended to commence midnight 14th July up until and including the 17th July. (1 NT meeting). Stewards when considering penalty noted that W Davis rides both in Alice Springs and Darwin and his exemplary record in regards to similar breaches of this rule. W Davis was notified of his right of appeal.

 

Race 4: Bunderberg Rum Handicap 1100 metres

Stewards interviewed trainer L Gillett in relation to the riding instructions she intended to issue her riders bearing in mind she had multiple runners in this event.

BLAZING BULLETT (J Todd) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Steadied off heels at the 1000m.

TWISTING TYPHOON (L Crow) – Commenced awkwardly.

OUR WITTNESS (W Kerford) – Commenced a little awkward bumping with runner. Raced wide throughout.

RAZOR BEER (C Spry) – Raced a little erratic early shifting outwards abruptly at the 1000m. Inclined to lay outwards under pressure down the length of the straight.

SORRY I AM RAZOR (J Babarovich) – Bumped with runner on jumping.

HEART OF EDEN (R Vigar) – Fractious in the barriers before commencing awkwardly and bumping with another runner.

 

Race 5: Gallagher Insurance Handicap 1000 metres

Stewards interviewed trainer L Whittle in relation to the riding instructions she intended to issue her riders bearing in mind she had multiple runners in this event.

MAUDY (W Kerford) – Taken outwards by another runner at the 900m.

CYCLONITE (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly losing some ground.

WEATHERVANE (J Babarovich) – Commenced awkwardly.

NORDIC ECLIPSE (D Morgan) – Shifted outwards at the 900m. Inclined to lay outwards under pressure down the length of the straight.

 

Race 6: Ladbrokes Pioneer Park Anniversary Cup 1400 metres

WAYANKA (B Davis) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with a runner.

DOON BUGGY (D Morgan) – Raced wide into the straight and down the length of the straight.

RHYTHM OF CUBA (B Huppatz) – Commenced awkwardly knuckling slightly and bumping with another runner.

URBAN BOURBON (W Davis) – Inclined to over-race into the first turn causing its rider some difficulties having to restrain off heels losing ground and continued to over-race throughout the middle stages.

 

Post-race samples were taken from all winners.

Pre-race samples taken from: MODERNA’S ARROW, HEART OF EDAN, MAGNUS BAY, WAYANKA, MILITARY FORCES, REMODIFY.
