Race 1 Ladbrokes Cash Out Handicap 1200 metres

CADMAN (S Tsaikos) – Bounded at the start losing some ground. Raced wide throughout. Rider accidentally dropped his whip near the 100m.

URBAN BOURBON (B Davis) – Rider reported his mount changed stride and mistrode contacting the running rail near the 600m.

 

Race 2: Johnny Walker Black Handicap 1200 metres

NEXT GENERATION (B Davis) – Stood flat footed at the start and lost ground. Cast the off hind plate in running.

TOFFIATO (D Morgan) – Lay inwards under pressure over the concluding stages.

CLEESE (K Gladwin) – Bumped with another runner at the start.

KEEMON (S Tsaikos) – Bumped with another runner at the start. Lay outwards from the 600m and raced wide from thereon. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have an abscess under the chin and an elevated heart rate. Trainer L Whittle subsequently advised that the gelding would now be retired from racing.

LEDAYL KISS (B Huppatz) – Commenced awkwardly.

PREEMPTIVE (B Sweeney) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped with another runner. Commenced to race wide from the 700m.

BETLEY (W Kerford) – Bumped with another runner at the start.

General – Stewards permitted jockey C Spry to ride 0.5kg overweight in this race as no other rider was available to ride at the allotted weight.

 

Race 3: Smirnoff Double Black Handicap 1200 metres

NINE CIRCLES (K Gladwin) – Kicked out in the barriers and sustained lacerations to the off stifle and both hind fetlocks. Acting on veterinary advice the mare was declared a late withdrawal by order of the Stewards at 2.43pm. On course deductions were not required as no bookmaker was fielding at the meeting.

Trainer K Lamprecht was advised that he must present a veterinary clearance for the mare prior to racing again.

BLAZING BULLET (B Sweeney) – Bumped outwards rounding the home turn.

HONOUR THE WORK (S Tsaikos) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Bumped outwards by another runner approaching the 600m and as a result then lay inwards and was again bumped shortly after.

RAZOR TIME (W Kerford) – Bumped at the start.

LITTLE HEATH (J Todd) – Shifted out approaching the 600m and contacted another runner becoming unbalanced. The gelding continued to bump with that runner for some distance.

SORRY I AM RAZOR (C Spry) – Bounded at the start and then knuckled unbalancing the rider.

DREAM PASSENGER (W Davis) – Raced wide throughout.

General – Stewards permitted jockey C Spry to ride 0.5kg overweight in this race as no other rider was available to ride at the allotted weight.

Following this event jockey B Sweeney required treatment from the Paramedics after having an asthma attack. He was stood down from his riding engagement in race 4. After responding to treatment and being monitored by the Paramedics he was cleared to fulfil his engagements from race 5.

 

Race 4: Sun FM Handicap 1100 metres

LISA was declared a late withdrawal by order of the Stewards at 2.55pm as there was no rider available to replace jockey B Sweeney.

HALOGEM (W Kerford) – Slow into stride and raced wide throughout the event.

JONNY AKHATON (B Sweeney) – Commenced awkwardly.

LUCK’S A CHANCE (J Todd) – Inclined to race a little erratic into the first turn bumping with another runner on several occasions.

RUTH’S BOY (S Tsaikos) – Bumped with another runner on several occasions heading into the first turn.

HILFIGER (W Davis) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

 

Race 5: BT Daley Plate 1000 metres

RAZOR BEER (C Spry) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Steadied off heels at the 600m when racing forward. Lay inwards under pressure down the length of the straight. Returned having bled from the off side nostril. Trainer L Gillett was advised that the horse must pass a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the Stewards prior to racing again.

LIGHTSONTHEHARBOUR (W Kerford) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. When questioned regarding the performance rider advised that his mount hung outwards in running and felt amiss in its action and he therefore did not ride the gelding out in the straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer B Cooke was advised that in the circumstances the gelding must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again.

HARRY HELLRAISER (B Huppatz) – Rider reported that his mount baulked when passing the winning post.

MADAM ST CLAIR (B Sweeney) – Slow into stride bumping with another runner on jumping.

ARROGANT MISS (L Crow) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

 

Race 6: Iron Jack Handicap 1400 metres

MIGHTY MICK (D Morgan) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

REGAL EAGLE (J Todd) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

CELEBRAKTI (B Huppatz) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

OUR TICKETS (W Davis) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner.

RIGHT HERE (K Gladwin) – Slow into stride on jumping. Raced wide throughout the event.

General – Stewards permitted jockey B Sweeney to ride 1kg overweight in this race as no other rider was available to ride at the allotted weight.

 

Race 7: JJ Richards Maiden Plate 1400 metres

MAHIR (W Kerford) – Bumped and crowded at the start.

MODERNA’S ARROW (D Morgan) – Raced wide throughout the event.

UNDAUNTED (C Spry) – Bumped and crowded at the start. Raced ungenerously in the early stages and middle stages. Rider recommended to the trainer to remove the blinkers and add a tongue tie. Trainer advised that she will be removing the blinkers and will trial a tongue tie in track work prior to racing.

KUMMERLINGS (L Crow) – Bumped at the start.

LUNCH MONEY (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

 

Race 8: Helloworld Travel Handicap 1600 metres

NICCOCO (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly.

GRACIOUS PROSPECT (S Tsaikos) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

ROYAL REQUEST (C Spry) – Commenced awkwardly and after becoming unbalanced the rider was dislodged.

AMERICAN STAR (L Crow) – Fractious in the barriers. Checked by its rider when tightened for room by riderless horse passing the 600m.

RHYTHM OF CUBA (B Huppatz) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

General – Jockey C Spry received treatment by St Johns paramedics for an injury to his right ankle. He will be required to present a medical clearance prior to riding again.
