SORRY I AM RAZOR (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner.

General: When Stewards questioned W Davis (SNIP ‘N’ STARE) in relation to the reason his mount had dipped several times at the 100m, he was of the opinion that it was due to a section of the track being uneven. Stewards noted his concerns and subsequently interviewed a number of senior riders to ascertain their opinions in regards to the suitability of the racing surface. The riders were collectively of the view that whilst they were mindful of the track being slightly uneven in sections, they did not feel that it was unsafe and the Stewards were satisfied that the condition of the track was suitable for racing to continue and undertook to monitor the surface.

General: Stewards opened an inquiry into the reason WOOGIE lost ground racing into the first turn. Evidence was taken from W Kerford (WOOGIE) and D Tourneur (LINDWALL). It was established that LINDWALL shifted ground inwards heading into the first turn whilst WOOGIE was making ground along the rails and was momentarily tightened for room from LINDWALL. It was further established that D Tourneur had made every effort to give WOOGIE room to his inside by steering his mount outwards but the gelding was a little reluctant to respond to his riding wanting to keep a straight path into the turn. Stewards accepted the evidence and took no further action.
