Race 1: 0-70 1600m

SKALDAK (P Shiers) – Bounded at the start.

1ST WICKED PROMISE 2ND MAKIN’ THE GRADE 3RD SKALDAK

 

Race 2: 0-58 1200m

KARMONAARON (D Morgan) – Crowded and impeded when under pressure near the 200m.

MR BOOMJANGLES (P Shiers) – Raced wide on straightening. Rider accidentally dropped his whip near the 200m.

WORLD FORCE (V Arnott) – After compounding mid race a subsequent veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near fore leg. Trainer J Manning was advised that he must present a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to racing again.

WHITWORTH (P Denton) – Steadied outwards from heels and lost ground near the 700m.

BLAZE OF GLORY (B Davis) – Post race the mare required veterinary treatment for tying up.

ABITAZAR (R Vigar) – Commenced awkwardly. Returned having bled from both nostrils. Trainer L Walling Denton was advised of the provisions of AR79.

REAL ROYAL (F Bergstrand) – Resented the kickback and raced ungenerously into the first turn unbalancing the rider. When questioned rider advised that her saddle shifted during this incident.

Prior to correct weight being declared the Judge and his assistant reviewed the semaphored placings and after consultation with the Stewards, they amended their initial decision and declared a dead heat for 3rd placing between AWESOME MO and MR BOOMJANGLES. The Stewards informed the TAB accordingly of the amended placings and correct weight was declared.

Race 3: BM76 1100m

BAKSLAP (P Shiers) – Raced wide throughout.

MEAZZA (K Gladwin) - Raced wide throughout.

RIVERINA ROMANCE (R Vigar) – When questioned in relation to losing ground near the 800m rider advised that after being crossed by another leaving the 900m his mount commenced to over race and when the pace eased shortly after he was obliged to restrain and from heels passing the 800m.

Race 4: Maiden 1000m

DEADIDIC (P Shiers) – Raced wide throughout.

MATCHFOX (B Huppatz) – Commenced awkwardly.

POLLENY (B Davis) – Eased down in the straight. The veterinarian reported the gelding sustained a fracture to the off fore fetlock and was euthanised.

CINOMENM (J Todd) – Tightened for room and checked at the 500m.

DELTA DOR (R Vigar) – Bumped at the start.

HATTAN MAN (P Shiers) - Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout.

FEDERAL COURT (N Day) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

MOSSBELLE (F Bergstrand) - Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

GOOD TO BE GREAT (J Todd) - Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout.

Summary

Swab samples were taken from all winners. Pre-race samples were taken from WHITWORTH, BLAZE OF GLORY, DEADIDIC, IRON CURTAIN, MATCHFOX & SPEEDYCOM. A post mortem sample was taken from POLLENY.

Race 5 – Jockey R Vigar was fined $100 for failing to comply with a direction and arriving late to the saddling enclosure AR232(b)

From DTC 23/11/19 – Trainer D Waters was fined $500 for a breach of AR166 ($250 of this amount was suspended for 12 months)

General from DTC meeting on 23 November, 2019 – At an inquiry trainer D Waters pleaded guilty to a breach of AR166 with the specifics being that as the trainer of COMPERE he did fail to attend to the gelding for approximately 60 minutes after the gelding competed in race 3 on the programme. He was fined the sum of $500. The Stewards ordered that $250 of the penalty be suspended for a period of 12 months on the condition that he does not reoffend during that period.
