General from DTC meeting 4 January, 2020 - Race 6: Trainer G Clarke advised that an endoscopic examination performed on CLAIRVUE DIAMOND diagnosed the gelding with Idiopathic Laryngeal Hemiplegia (roarer). Mr Clarke advised that he intends to continue with his current preparation and will race the gelding over a decreased distance at its next start. Stewards will monitor the gelding’s future performances.

 

Race 1: Maiden 1300m

IRON CURTAIN (J Todd) – Bumped at the start.

SNOW CREEK (K Gladwin) – Bumped at the start.

FEATHERS OF HOPE (N Day) – Bounded at the start. Raced wide throughout.

LOVOLOGY (B Huppatz) – Bounded at the start.

1ST IRON CURTAIN 2ND STROKE OF MAGIC 3RD TELLING STORIES

 

Race 2: 0-58 1300m

The start time of this race was delayed several minutes due to a gear adjustment on CLAIRVUE DIAMOND and vet check on WHITWORTH.

FEDERAL COURT (J Todd) – Raced wide from the 600m. Lay inwards under pressure in the straight.

YULONG AWESOME (P Shiers) – Raced wide throughout.

RESTLESS (J Keating) - Raced wide throughout.

CLAIRVUE DIAMOND (K Gladwin) – The gelding was late arriving at the barriers after having its tongue tie refitted in the race day stalls.

TICKET TO PARIS (N Day) – A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have sustained an injury to the near fore leg. Connections will be required to present a veterinary clearance for the mare prior to racing again.

WHITWORTH (P Denton) – After contacting the barrier gates with its off side hip, the gelding underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to compete. Steadied passing the 700m. Cast both hind plates in running.

Race 3: 0-64 1300m

ISLE OF LIGHT (N Day) – Contacted by another runner near the 100m.

MOLICIOUS (J Keating) – Impeded rounding the home turn.

TACITURN (J Todd) – Shifted ground outwards under pressure and contacted another runner near the 100m.

DANCERS KIN (K Gladwin) – Trainer D Bates advised that he would issue instructions for the gelding to ridden forward in the event if possible and this information was disseminated.

MOSSBELLE (P Shiers) – Raced wide throughout.

HOWDEE (B Huppatz) – Bounded at the start.

1ST ISLE OF LIGHT 2ND TACITURN 3RD BORLUNG

 

Race 4: 0-70 1200m

Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as his stable had multiple runners in the event.

TORCHBEARER (C Spry) – Raced wide throughout.

WARFACE (J Keating) – Commenced awkwardly.

WICKED PROMISE (N Day) – Bounded at the start. Taken outwards across heels near the 100m to obtain a clear run and shortly after the rider accidentally dropped his whip.

LETS CELEBRATE (J Todd) – Returned with a laceration to the near hind leg.

NO ALIBI (K Gladwin) – Eased when racing keenly near the 650m.

Race 5: BM54 1100m

Stewards interviewed dual licensee C Spry in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as his stable had multiple runners in the event.

HINDLEY STREET (C Spry) – Slow into stride.

SHUDAPUTARINGONIT (K Gladwin) – Commenced awkwardly.

COMPERE (F Bergstrand) – Raced ungenerously into the first turn.
