General: Stewards questioned apprentice D Morgan in regards to his riding instructions on WAYANKA in particular from the 600m. Stewards were of the view that commencing a run 3 wide from the 600m may have been detrimental to that gelding finishing stronger to the line. Apprentice Morgan explained that his instructions were to go forward and at the 600m he felt the gelding was travelling well enough to improve to the lead. Whilst Stewards accepted his explanation, he was advised that no matter how well a horse is travelling in a race, taking off that far from home has its risks and that he should utilize patience when travelling well in a race.
