ASH GREY declared a late scratching 1:28pm on veterinary advice after being found to be lame in the off hind leg. Trainer L Gillett was advised that prior to that gelding again starting in a race, a veterinary certificate satisfactory to the Stewards, must be produced.
As there was no book-maker on course, no deductions were applicable.
WAYANKA (D Morgan) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Commenced to race wide from the 950m.
PERESSINI (P Denton) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

SHINING MANE declared a late scratching at 2:08 on veterinary advice after sustaining a laceration to its off hind leg after a mishap in the day stalls.
As there was no book maker on course, no deductions were applicable.
REGAL EAGLE (P Denton) – Slow into stride.
RAZOR TIME (W Kerford) – Commenced awkwardly momentarily unbalancing its rider and losing some ground. Rider advised that after commencing awkwardly, his mount was reluctant to race truly when caught behind runners. A post- race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormalities other than a small laceration to the off hind cannon bone.
TOMAHAWK LAD (S Tsaikos) – Raced wide throughout.

GUESS SO (C Hunter) – Rider advised that the mare was inclined to lay outwards throughout the event. A post race veterinary examination of the mare failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.
STROKE OF MAGIC (T Treichel) – Slow into stride.

Race 6: SDA Plumbing St Patricks Day Cup 1600 metres
HILLGILLY RICH (L Crow) – Bumped with another runner on jumping and raced wide throughout.
GRAB FOR POWER (W Kerford) – Knuckled on jumping.
MOMENTUM AMETHYST (P Denton) – Slow into stride.
DOON BUGGY (D Morgan) – Raced wide throughout.
THE STAR LEGEND (J Todd) – Rider dislodged at the 500m after his mount fell. The veterinarian advised that the gelding fell as a result of suffering a cardiac event and was subsequently humanely euthanized
