Stewards interviewed trainer C Pollard in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as his stable had multiple runners in the event.
BORLUNG (P Shiers) – When questioned regarding the performance rider advised that his mount quickened as expected from the 500m but then peaked on its run near the 300m and failed to finish off the race as anticipated. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
MY TRADITION (V Arnott) – Raced wide throughout.
RECORDING TO WIN (B Davis) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that he had ridden his mount along to take up a forward position but when unable to cross he was consequently forced to race wide in the back straight and the mare was then under pressure from the 600m. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
SO INSPIRING (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly and lost ground.
VALLESECO (B Huppatz) – Cast the off hind plate in running.

TYCOON DANCER (P Shiers) – Held up for clear running when inside the heels of another runner between the 500m and the 400m. Impeded again and held up until taken outwards passing the 200m.
ARANCINI (B Davis) – Returned with an abrasion to the off hind heel.
