Race 1 Get Racy Handicap 1200m

JONNY AKHATON declared a late scratching at 1:50pm by order of the Stewards after breaking through the front of the barriers. Whilst the gelding was unharmed in the incident, the rider (C Hunter) complained of pain to her right hand and stood herself down from riding in the event.

As there was no on-course book-maker in attendance, no deductions were applicable.

BRAZILLIANT – (T Treichel) – Raced wide throughout.

MAID IN MILAN – (R Vigar) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Began to yield ground from the 600m and finished well back. After a disappointing performance, a veterinary inspection of the mare failed to find any apparent abnormalities.

NIC NAC – (D Morgan) – Inclined to lay inwards under pressure down the length of the straight. Rider reported that the gelding was under pressure from the 500m and did not run on as anticipated. A subsequent veterinary inspection found the gelding to have an increased respiratory rate otherwise no abnormalities were found.

REGAL EAGLE – (L Crow) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Brushed with the running rail at the 600m.

QUE PASA – (W Kerford) – Slow into stride and raced wide throughout.

Race 2: Wildfire Blooms Handicap 1200m

Prior to this event, C Hunter was examined by St John medical officers and passed fit to continue riding.

AMERICAN STAR – (L Crow) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Steadied off heels at the 650m when racing forward.

REGAL CAPITAL – (P Denton) – Commenced awkwardly. Steadied off heels at the 700m when racing forward.

TIGER TRAP – (T Treichel) – Slow into stride and raced wide from the 500m.

RAZOR TIME – (W Davis) – Jumped inwards on jumping bumping with another runner. Steadied off heels at the 350m losing some ground when momentarily inconvenienced for room along the rails.

KING KAZOO – (D Morgan) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

Race 3: Ladbrokes Odds Boost Maiden Plate 1200m

DON’T DARE ASK declared a late scratching at 3:04pm by order of the Stewards after the gelding took charge of its rider completing a circuit of the course at a fast pace.

As there was no on-course book-maker in attendance, no deductions were applicable.

Correct weight for this event was delayed after the rider of the third place-getter (IAMELLE) requested to view the Stewards footage over the concluding stages. After viewing the footage, correct weight was declared.

REYNARD – (W Kerford) – Slow into stride.

SHOWS PROMISE – (W Davis) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

DUKE OF HEARTS – (R Vigar) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

GUARDIAN – (T Treichel) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner and dipped shortly after. Bumped with another runner on several occasions over the concluding stages.

IAMELLE – (D Morgan) – Shifted outwards off heels at the 120m to obtain clear running and bumped with another runner.

STRYKING ASSASSIN – (L Crow) – Raced wide throughout.

AUSBRED WAAWOR – (V Arnott) – Bumped with another runner on jumping and raced wide throughout.

Race 4: Ladies In Racing Magazine Handicap 1000m

Stewards permitted V Arnott to replace C Hunter as the rider of ROUGHLY after C Hunter advised that she was unable to fulfil her remaining rides for the meeting due to a concern with her right hand stemming from the incident in race one.

C Hunter was advised that prior to riding track-work and race riding, she must produce a medical certificate of fitness satisfactory to the Stewards.

SHAMPERS – (W Davis) – Steadied off heels in-between runners into the first turn.

ROUGHLY – (V Arnott) – Inclined to shift outwards under pressure from the 200m.

EIGHTEEN BOMBERS – (W Kerford) – Commenced a little awkwardly and raced wide throughout.

Race 5: Hair Today Alice Springs Handicap 1000m

Stewards permitted R Vigar to ride 1.5kgs overweight in this event as no other rider was available.

MADNESS INVALENCIA declared a late scratching at 4:00pm after its rider became indisposed and no other rider was available.

LEAVE IT TO ME declared a late scratching at 4:25pm by order of the Stewards after refusing to load. L Edwards, stable foreman for trainer D Leech was advised that prior to that filly again starting in a race, it must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards, with the emphasis being on loading in a timely manner.

As there was no on-course book-maker in attendance, no deductions were applicable.

WEDGEBROOK – (V Arnott) – Commenced awkwardly. Inclined to lay inwards in the early stages of the event.

IRON LOTUS – (R Vigar) – Ridden hard early to maintain a forward position.

NINE CIRCLES – (W Davis) – Commenced a little awkwardly and raced wide throughout.

Race 6: Crowne Plaza Alice Springs Handicap 1000

Stewards permitted T Treichel to replace C Hunter (indisposed) as the rider of FIONNLAGH.

SAMIYOMAR – (W Kerford) – After a disappointing performance, a veterinary inspection of the gelding failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.

MADAM ST CLAIR – (R Vigar) – Slow to muster early speed and raced wide throughout.

REAL ROYAL – (P Denton) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

LIGHTSONTHEHARBOUR – (W Davis) – Bumped with another runner on jumping and raced wide throughout.

THE AMAZING TAHLIA – (L Crow) – Commenced awkwardly losing some ground.

Race 7: Red Centre Technology Partners Handicap 1400m

Stewards permitted R Vigar to ride 1.5kgs overweight in this event as no other rider was available.

The start of this event was put back 14 minutes to start at 5:40pm due to the ambulance officers attending to a licenced trainer on course and another ambulance being en-route to the race course.

DOON BUGGY declared a late scratching at 5:02 after its rider became indisposed and no other rider was available.

TOMAHAWK LAD – (L Crow) – Shifted inwards into the first turn.

BABE IN BOOTS – (W Kerford) – Taken inwards by another runner into the first turn.

EXONERATE – (P Denton) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Tightened between runners into the first turn having to check and lose ground.

GRAB FOR POWER – (D Morgan) – Momentarily crowded for room along the rails into the first turn.

HENRY LAD – (W Davis) – Raced wide throughout.

FINALS TIME – (R Vigar) – Raced wide throughout.

BIT OF A FLIRT – (V Arnott) – Slow into stride.

WINGARD – (T Treichel) – Slow away bumping with another runner.

On inquiry, L Crow was found guilty of a charge under AR131 for careless riding. The specifics of the charge being that she did allow her mount to shift ground inwards approaching the first turn when insufficiently clear resulting in BABE IN BOOTS (W Kerford) being taken inwards onto EXONERATE (P Denton) which was tightened onto GRAB FOR POWER (D Morgan), and as a consequence P Denton had to take hold and check his mount losing ground. L Crow had her licence to ride in races suspended to commence midnight 30th May 2020 and to expire midnight 13th June 2020. (1 Alice Springs meeting). L Crow was advised of her right of appeal.
