A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have returned with an elevated heart rate.

FRILLY DESIGN (J Todd) – Rider reported that he had ridden his mount vigorously from the start to hold a forward position but when crossed by another runner leaving the 1000m the mare resented the kickback and raced ungenerously and was not competitive from thereon. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. As the mare has raced in this manner at consecutive race starts trainer G Clarke was advised that the mare must barrier trial satisfactorily prior to racing again.
