Stewards interviewed trainer P Cole in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as his stable had multiple runners in the event.

VUNIVALU (W Davis) – Following the unplaced performance rider reported that in his opinion the gelding did not appreciate racing in consecutive weeks.

WICKED PROMISE (S Tsaikos) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 3: Class 2 1200m

CRAZY LAD (J Todd) – Prior to the start of this event the starter requested a veterinary examination of this gelding. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed the gelding was lame in the off fore leg. The gelding was subsequently withdrawn by order of the Stewards at 4.19pm. The following deductions were applicable to all successful bets placed prior to 4.19pm.

Trainer G Lefoe was advised he must present a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to racing again.

SHE SHINES BRIGHT (S Tsaikos) – Race wide for the majority of the race. Momentarily impeded from heels near the 100m.

GOD’S PENNY (K Gladwin) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that whilst the gelding was having its first start on the track his mount failed to muster any early speed and raced wide in running and failed to finish the race off as anticipated. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

ISLAND DANCER – (P Denton) – Raced wide throughout.

CRAZY SUSPECT - (A Lindsay) – Crowded between runners at the start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had sustained a laceration to the near fore leg.
