General: A Lindsay was unable to ride at her MRW at both the Darwin meeting 12/2/21 and todays Alice Springs meeting and the following amendments were made.

Race 1 ALASSAK declared a scratching at 8:00am as no rider available.

Race 2 LORD SMEDLEY P Denton replaced A Lindsay

Race 5 LADY SATAB E Boyd replaced A Lindsay

 

Race 1 Family Day – 10 April Handicap 1200m

Stewards interviewed trainer L Whittle in relation to the riding instructions she was to give her riders bearing in mind she had multiple runners in this event.

BLAZING BULLET (E Boyd) – Steadied off heels at the 100m

TOFFIATO (W Davis) – Commenced to shift outwards under pressure from the 150m. Rider advised that he must stop riding and straighten his mounts when they are shifting ground quickly.

COLLIVER (P Denton) – Fractious in the barriers and slow into stride.

MORE CHILLI (W Kerford) – Bumped with another runner at the 250m.

DATASET (C Hunter) – Fractious in the barriers and bumped with another runner at the 250m when laying inwards under pressure.

Race 2: Ladies Day – 17 April Handicap 1200m

ROAD STORM declared a late scratching at 3:30pm by order of the Stewards after refusing to load.

As there was no book-maker on course, no deductions were applicable.

Trainer U Dobbe was advised that prior to the gelding again starting in a race, it must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards.

NUMBER ONE STAR (P Shiers) – Fractious in the barriers almost dislodging its rider. A veterinary examination was subsequently performed and the gelding was cleared to race. Bumped with another runner on jumping.

Trainer D Leech was advised that a warning had been placed on the gelding and a similar occurrence may result in some action being taken.

FAOLAN (W Kerford) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner.

MILITARY FORCES (W Davis) – Tightened and bumped between runners on jumping.

Race 3: Anzac Day Races – 25 April Handicap 1100m

ANDALE GRINGO (P Shiers) – Commenced awkwardly.

TREDICI (W Davis) – Raced wide throughout.

SPEEDYCOM (C Hunter) – Commenced awkwardly.

1ST ARRIBA 2ND GUARDIAN 3RD TRUCKLOAD OF HOFFA

 

Race 4: Cup Day Sunday – May 2 Maiden Plate 1000m

CHOOSE YOURSELF (P Denton) – Slow into stride.

IAMELLE (L Crow) – Inconvenienced for clear running passing the 400m having to angle outwards off heels.

NORTHERN FACTOR (W Davis) – Shifted outwards slightly leaving the 400m.

TRUE FIGHTER (W Kerford) – Raced wide throughout.

General: L Crow rider of the third placegetter IAMELLE lodged a protest against the 1st placegetter FEED THE MONSTER and the second placegetter NORTHERN FACTOR alleging interference about the 400m.

Evidence was taken from riders L Crow, W Davis P Shiers, and also trainers R Bell, K Petrick and D Leech.

After deliberating on the evidence, Stewards dismissed the protest and ordered that all placings stand.

Race 5: Ladbrokes Split Multi Handicap 1400m

THE LADIES MAN (W Kerford) – After a disappointing performance, a veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.

MOMENTUM AMETHYST (W Davis) – Slow into stride.

ZAP (P Shiers) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

DAISLEY (L Crow) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
