CRESTA CHROME (J Watkins) – Fractious in the barriers, dropped its head and dipped when the gates opened dislodging the rider. Jockey J Watkins was treated by Ambulance officers and stabilized on the track before being transported to Darwin Hospital for observation.

DISCO (F Bergstrand) – Jumped awkwardly. Wide throughout.

As there were no substitute riders available to replace Jockey J Watkins, Stewards withdrew the following runners at 3.25pm

Jockey J Watkins will be required to present a medical clearance prior to riding again.

Race 2: BM76 1000m

Due to a delay in another ambulance arriving on course Stewards put back the start time of Race 2 by 5 minutes to 3.58pm

KISS THE CONDOR (B Davis) –Commenced awkwardly bumping another runner.

BROOKLYN (W Davis) – Bumped at the start.

LOUPPY BEND (S Tsaikos) – Wide throughout.

Following this event, Stewards amended the remaining race times to race 3 - 4.32pm, race 4 - 5.05pm and race 5 – 5.45pm.

Race 3: 0-58 1300m

BON AIRE (C Spry) – Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. Wide throughout.

OMBROMANI (W Davis) – Bumped at the start and momentarily unbalanced. Lay outwards throughout the event.

FLINDERS BEACH (F Bergstrand) –Jumped inwards bumping another runner.

SNOWY BLACK (B Davis) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner.

GERONIMO’S SON (K Gladwin) – Tightened between runners at the start.

Race 4: 0-64 1200m

Stewards interviewed trainer P Cole in relation to his riding instructions as his stable had multiple runners in this event. Stewards interviewed dual licence holder (trainer/jockey) C Spry in relation to his riding instructions as he had 2 runners in this event.

WINDSOR CUP (K Gladwin) – Scrambled at the start and inconvenienced for clear running shortly after. Steadied off heels whilst racing keenly in the middle stages.

ALSOADAMAS (B Davis) – Reared at the start losing some ground. Lay inwards rounding the home turn.

DUST ‘N’ DIAMONDS (J Todd) – Wide throughout

Race 5: BM54 1100m

NEEDY ROCKET (F Bergstrand) – Bumped at the start

MACON COUNTY (V Arnott) – Wide throughout

WICKED AFFAIR (J Todd) – Fractious prior to the start.

LET’S CELEBRATE (B Davis) – Dwelt at the start. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that his mount had travelled comfortably in running but compounded over the final 200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer G Clarke subsequently advised that the mare had recovered without issue following the event.

MELANION (C Spry) – Bumped at the start and slow into stride.

SILICONNI (K Gladwin) – Jumped outwards bumping with another runner.

MONTANA AIR (W Davis) – Jumped inwards bumping with another runner.
