FLOREAT PICA (W Davis) – Bumped another runner at the 250m.

ITS MAGIC (S Wiseman) - Bumped another runner at the 250m. The gelding returned with blood in its mouth from a laceration.

WICKED RHYTHM (J Lyon) - Returned having bled from both nostrils (first time). Trainer K Healy was advised of the provisions of AR79.

OCEAN CLASS (S Tsaikos) – Bumped at the start.

YULONG AWESOME (P Shiers) – Raced wide throughout.

SUPREME TIMES (D Stanley) – Slow into stride. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that he had been impeded and unable to improve between the 700m and the 400m when behind heels and due to his mount losing momentum during this section of the event, the gelding then failed to quicken when presented with clear running in the home straight.

RHYTHMICAL (S Miller) – Cast the near hind plate in running.

GRINZINGER BREW (V Arnott) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Following the unplaced performance a veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Race 4: 0-58 Handicap 1300m

DESERT KNIGHT (J Philpot) – Bounded at the start. Raced wide throughout. When questioned rider advised that whilst the gelding had a tendency to lay inwards through running she had been unable to fully test her mount in the straight due to laying inwards under pressure. Trainer N Bruggeman was advised that a warning will now be placed on the gelding. She undertook to experiment with gear and make a change prior to the geldings’ next race start in an effort to improve its racing manner.

SOUTHERN BOLT (J Lyon) – Raced wide on straightening.

ISLAND DANCER (A Lindsay) – Commenced awkwardly. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. When questioned rider advised that her mount lay outwards in the early and middle stages and lost momentum in running. She explained that when presented with clear running in the straight she was unable to fully test her mount as the gelding continued to lay outwards under pressure. Trainer T Halter was advised that a warning will now be placed on the gelding. She undertook to add blinkers for the geldings’ next race start in an effort to improve its racing manner.

NICANTELLYA (S Tsaikos) – Raced wide for the majority.

HUSSLIN HUMPH (A Lindsay) – Cast the off fore plate in running. Returned having bled from both nostrils (first time). Trainer D Bates was advised of the provisions of AR79.

ROCKATOMIC (P Shiers) – Cast the off hind plate in running. Returned having bled from both nostrils (second time). Trainer G Lefoe was advised of the provisions of AR79 in that the gelding is now ineligible to race.

MANLY COVE (A Nicholls) – Slipped behind at the start. Raced keenly and failed to settle in running. Returned having bled from both nostrils (first time). Trainer G Clarke was advised of the provisions of AR79.

TONY’S REWARD (C Hunter) – Crowded for room shortly after the start.

BOLT I AM (C Hunter) – Slow into stride and to muster early speed. Raced wide throughout. Had a tendency to lay inwards when tested with the whip in the straight.

Race 9: Ladbroke Darwin Guineas 3yo Set Weights 1600m

Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in relation to his riding instructions as his stable had multiple runners in this event.

CASINO SEVENTEEN (P Shiers) – Bumped on the hindquarters and hampered near the 1400m.

OBLIGATORY (A Nicholls) – Raced wide throughout.

SKELLIG ISLAND (B Huppatz) – Tightened for room and checked near the 1400m.

SPY COLONEL (P Denton) – Bumped at the start. Raced keenly passing the 700m and bumped another runner.

VALLEY PRINCE (S Tsaikos) – Carried inwards, tightened for room and bumped onto another runner near the 1400m. Bumped with another runner passing to 700m.

MYSTIC KNOT (J Philpot) – Bumped at the start.

General – On inquiry jockey A Nicholls (OBIGATORY) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a). The specifics being that whilst riding his mount along he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent the gelding from shifting inwards near the 1400m causing VALLEY PRINCE to be pressured and carried inwards onto SKELLIG ISLAND which was tightened for room and checked and further VALLEY PRINCE was tightened onto CASINO SEVENTEEN with both runners being hampered. Jockey A Nicholls had his licence to ride in races suspended for 2 NT meetings to expire after 11 July, 2021 and in addition was fined $300.

Race 10: 0-64 3yo Handicap 1600m

MANAAJIM (S Tsaikos) – Steadied when racing keenly passing the 1400m.

NASHWAH (V Arnott) – Failed to stretch out and did not race competitively. Rider reported the filly felt amiss in its action. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer P Cole subsequently reported the filly had recovered without incident. Trainer was advised that the filly must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again.
