ISLAND DANCER (V Arnott) – Steadied when racing ungenerously near the 950m and taken outwards racing wide from thereon.
1ST LA TRIOLI 2ND PRINCE RUBAN 3RD AGAINST THE TIDE
General – Following this event jockey Adam Nichols was examined by the Paramedics and required medical treatment for dehydration. After recovering, he was unable to fulfil his remaining engagements as he could not the allotted weights. The following changes were approved:
Race 2 – P Shiers replaced A Nichols on SALTY
Race 3 – SHE SHINES BRIGHT declared late scratching at 2.13pm (no rider available) after permission given for S Fawke to replace A Nichols on SILVERBACK (trainers request)
Race 4 – IT’S PINS declared a late scratching at 2.29pm (no rider available) after permission was given for L Crow to replace A Nichols on ANDAMAN (trainer request)
Race 6 – V Arnott replaced A Nichols on BULL MARKET
Race 2: 0-70 Handicap 1100m
ASAHI BEARING (L Crow) – Commenced awkwardly.

Race 3: 0-58 Handicap 1100m
SEDONA (P Shiers) – Bumped at the start. Lay outwards through the middle stages and when under pressure in the home straight.
SILVERBACK (S Fawke) – Veered inwards shortly after the start and bumped.
DUNKIRK (V Arnott) – Bumped shortly after the start.
AIR BLAZER (S Tsaikos) – Cast the near hind and off fore plates in running.
BARRY’S BROTHER (L Crow) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

Race 4: Set Weight Maiden - 1000m
ANDAMAN (L Crow) – Slow into stride.
DEVIL BE QUICK (J Philpot) – Broke through the barriers and after being quickly restrained was returned to the start. Raced ungenerously in the early stages.
LEGS ELEVEN (S Miller) – Rider reported his mount did not respond to his riding and was reluctant to stretch and therefore failed to race competitively A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer C Pollard was advised that the mare must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again.
PONTO’S PICK (V Arnott) – Commenced awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
1ST YOSHI TORANAGA 2ND SAINT OLGA 3RD MON LOUIS
Race 5: 0 – 64 Handicap 1700m
SOUTHERN BOULT (P Shiers) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that whilst his mount did have a tendency to lay outwards in running the gelding was under pressure prior to the 600m and was disappointing in failing to finish the race off as anticipated. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
IT’S MAGIC (S Fawke) – Bounded at the start.
PROMOTER (S Miller) – Fractious prior to the start. Commenced awkwardly with the rider striking his right foot on the gates. Raced wide throughout.

Race 6: Benchmark Handicap 1700m
Following the event jockey S Miller requested to view the patrol films to determine if he had grounds to lodge a protest and after doing so he did not proceed with any objection and correct weight was declared.
I AM THE FOX (P Shiers) – Commenced awkwardly. Shifted inwards slightly under pressure leaving the 125m.
SAFETY DANCE (S Miller) – Crowded for room and steadied near the 125m.
EXACT REPLICA (L Crow) – Shifted ground outwards under pressure leaving the 150m.
RIKIBOBBY (S Fawke) – Knuckled at the start.
General – On inquiry it was established that near the 125m SAFETY DANCE (S Miller) was crowded for room and steadied when racing between I AM THE FOX (P Shiers) which shifted inwards slightly and EXACT REPLICA (L Crow) which shifted outwards under pressure. Stewards were of the opinion that jockey L Crow had stopped riding and attempted to straighten when her mount commenced to shift ground and therefore no further action was taken.
