Race 1: Maiden 1100m

ANDAMAN (W Davis) – Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout.

NAUGHTON (J Gray) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that her mount was slow to muster early speed and resented the kickback in running. The veterinarian reported the gelding coughed on multiple occasions post race.

RANVCESKI (S Tsaikos) – Steadied back from heels near the 650m.

IT’S PINS (C Hunter) – Bumped at the start.

ZIP LANE (P Shiers) – Slow into stride.

Race 2: BMNT 1100m

BELMONT DAY (J Todd) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that despite travelling comfortably in running his mount was under pressure prior to straightening and yielded ground from thereon. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

SEBRAKATE (P Shiers) – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

LITTLE TOWN BLUES (W Davis) – Raced wide throughout.

POWER RUSH (C Hunter) – Bounded at the start.

Race 3: 0-70 1300m

ORCEIN (S Tsaikos) – Impeded from heels approaching the 400m.

FORT KNOX (J Todd) - The veterinarian reported the gelding coughed on multiple occasions post race and was treated for ulcerated eyes.

GOOD THERAPY (A Nicholls) – Reared at the start and lost ground.

PEMBROKE CASTLE (P Shiers) – Held up clear running near the 400m.

WITH PLEASURE (C Hunter) – Bounded at the start.

Race 4: BM54 1300m

As jockey A Nicholls could not make the allotted weight in this event he was replaced on AGAINST THE TIDE by jockey V Arnott.

KAPTAN APOLLO (P Denton) – Raced wide throughout.

YULONG AWESOME (B Huppatz) – Raced wide throughout.

SOUTHERN BOLT (P Shiers) – Held up rounding the home turn and then disappointed for clear running near the 200m and taken outwards to improve.

PRINCES MARIBEL (S Tsaikos) – Raced in restricted room rounding the home turn.

1ST BRIMARVI ROOBOY 2ND KAPTAN APOLLO 3RD MAXAWAY

 

Race 5: 0-58 1200m

As jockey A Nicholls could not make the allotted weight in this event he was replaced on SUSTAR by jockey V Arnott.

CHOICE APPROACH (B Huppatz) – underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers at the request of the rider and was subsequently found to be mildly lame in the off fore leg. The gelding was withdrawn by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advise at 5.24pm. The following deductions were applicable:

5c win 7c place, 5c place, 6c place

The veterinarian advised that whilst the gelding was mildly lame there was visible swelling to the off fore tendon. Trainer T Harrower reported the gelding will now be sent for a spell and he was advised that prior to racing again he must present a veterinary certificate of soundness which must include the results of an ultrasound of the fore tendon.

LIONEL (P Denton) – Cast both front bar plates in running.

TREBLA (J Noske) – Raced wide throughout.

DREAM WEAVER (J Gray) – Attempted buck for several strides after the start. Trainer C Pollard was advised that warning would be placed on the mare in this regard.
