General: Following discussions with trainer C Pollard during race morning stable compliance checks, the Stewards permitted the withdrawal of the runners engaged from his stable after the 8.00 am scratching deadline as concerns had been raised in relation to a supplement that had been used in his stable.
Race 1: Maiden 1200m
COMETH THE HOUR (P Shiers) – Crowded at the start.
DALY WATERS (A Nicholls) – Eased down leaving the 1000m and retired from the event. The veterinarian reported the gelding to be lame in both front legs. Trainer C Nash was advised he must present a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to racing again.

Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in regards to the riding instructions he intended to issue bearing in mind the stable had all the runners in this event.

KEEN AS A BEAN (V Arnott) – Proved difficult to load. Slow into stride.
MR MOFEED (W Davis) – Returned having bled from the left nostril. Trainer P Cole was advised that gelding must gallop in the presence of the Stewards prior to racing again in accordance with AR79.
VEXATIOUS BOY (J Philpot) – Raced wide throughout.

COWLEYS CREEK (J Philpot) was declared a late scratching at 3.32pm by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice after the gelding sustained an injury to the near hind leg during transit to the course.
