Race 1 YUBU NAPA ART GALLERY HANDICAP - 1200m

LIBERTY BLUE (W Kerford) – rider was dislodged in the preliminary and after it took several minutes to recapture the gelding, a veterinary examination was conducted and the gelding was subsequently declared a late scratching at 12.58pm by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice. On course deductions were not applicable with no bookmaker at the meeting. Jockey W Kerford was examined by the paramedics and suffered no injury in this incident.

SEDONA (S Callow) – Bumped at the start.

HARBOUR EXPRESS (I Luximon) – Lay outwards from the 900m. A post race veterinary examination revealed to abnormalities.

BOULEVARDIER (P Denton) – Bounded at the start.

YOWZA (S Tsaikos) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

DREAMTIME LADY (J Todd) – Raced wide throughout.

WATERBORN (NZ) – Slow into stride. Failed to muster early speed.

Race 2 EMMIE WEHR PARADE RING HANDICAP – 1200m

NOBLE ALBERT (J Todd) – the gelding underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and when found to be lame in the near hind leg was subsequently declared a late scratching at 1.34pm by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice. On course deductions were not applicable with no bookmaker at the meeting. Trainer T Gillett was advised he must present a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to racing again.

BAR GEM (J Philpot) – Commenced awkwardly and veered outwards shortly after the start to take up a forward position.

MILITARY ROAD (S Tsaikos) – Commenced awkwardly.

TANNER (S Wiseman) – Shifted ground outwards under pressure from the 200m.

FAT IMPACTA (L Crow) – Slow into stride.

Race 3 RESTAURANT 1690 HANDICAP – 1200m

SUDANN (NZ) (J Todd) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that he rode his mount vigorously in the early stages to lead but the gelding was then off the bit mid race and yielded ground from the 400m. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer G Clarke undertook to monitor the geldings’ recovery over the ensuing days and advise the Stewards accordingly.

MAGNUS A GO GO (P Denton) – Held up rounding the home turn.

KING CRAB (W Davis) – Required resaddling behind the barriers, delaying the start.

FUTURE DREAMS (S Tsaikos) – Bumped at the start.

RHYTHMICAL (I Luximon) – Commenced awkwardly.

DEBBONAIRE BOY (J Philpot) – Raced wide throughout.

XTRA FUN (S Callow) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

TOMAHAWK LAD (L Crow) – Raced wide on straightening. Cast the near hind plate in running.

LIKE A HEARTBEAT (L Crow) – Bumped at the start. Crowded for room and unbalanced near the 100m.

WICKED ADDICTION (S Callow) - Bumped at the start.

A THOUSAND DEGREES (W Kerford) – Commenced awkwardly.

CHAMPS D’OR (W Davis) – Bumped and unbalanced at the start. Raced wide throughout.

HALGARD (S Wiseman) – Crowded and bumped at the start. Carried inwards near the 100m. Crowded and steadied when in restricted room passing the winning post.

NARRATIVE STAR (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly, veered inwards and bumped another runner at the start. Raced wide throughout.

BUTTERFINGERS (S Tsaikos) – Shifted inwards under pressure near the 100m.

TRAVANTI (I Luximon) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Carried outwards and crowded shortly after the start.

REDENZO (C Hunter) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

Race 7 ARALUEN TAXATION SERVICES HANDICAP - 1400m

At the request of SKY the start time of this event was varied to 4.49pm

.

ZAP (S Wiseman) – Carried inwards, crowded and bumped onto another near the 1200m. Steadied outwards from heels approaching the 400m.

BENCH PRESS (S Tsaikos) – Bumped by another runner on two occasions in the early stages. Lay inwards in the early stages of the straight.

ENVY ME (P Denton) – Tightened for room and checked near the 1200m.

PRINCE OF ARRAN (NZ) (I Luximon) – Shifted inwards in the early stages and bumped with another runner on two occasions. Rider reported his saddle shifted near the 600m and as a result his mount shifted ground outwards rounding the home turn.

AUSTREET (L Crow) – Raced wide throughout.

General: On inquiry jockey S Tsaikos (BENCH PRESS) was found guilty of a charge of engaging in careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a). The specifics being that near the 1200m he permitted his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear resulting in ZAP (S Wiseman) being carried inwards and crowded onto ENVY ME (P Denton) which in turn was tightened for room and checked. Jockey S Tsaikos had his licence to ride in races suspended for 1 NT meeting to expire after 14 April, 2022 and in addition was fined the sum of $500.
