BOY BIG (S Tsaikos) – Raced wide throughout.
AGAINST THE TIDE (A Nicholls) – Permission was granted for rider to to ride 0.5kg overweight as no other jockey was available. Lay outwards in the concluding stages.
AFTERNOON TEA (W Davis) – Steadied in-between runners into the first turn.
RED’S MATE (C Hunter) – Slow away, raced wide throughout.
PRINCESS DEJOUR (V Arnott) – Slow into stride.

GRET BOULDER (W Davis) – Bumped at the start.
WILD ROVER (P Shiers) – Inclined to lay inwards under pressure over the last 150m. Race wide throughout.
ROJO BOOM (S Wiseman) – Bumped at the start.

FAMILJA (P Shiers) – Bumped at the start.
HARD RANSOM (A Nicholls) – Bumped at the start.
THE ALBION (P Denton) – Bounded at the start and bumped.
LITTLE KIBO (S Wiseman) – Bumped at the start. The veterinarian reported that the mare returned having bled from the right nostril. Trainer T Logan was advised of his requirements under AR79.

Race 5: NT Keno / Mindil Beach Casino TROBIS Maiden – 1000m
Stewards interviewed trainer C Pollard in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable he had multiple runners.
AIR COMMAND (A Nicholls) – Jumped awkwardly, slow into stride.
READY OR BUST (S Tsaikos) – On arrival at the barriers Jockey S Tsaikos requested a veterinary examination of his mount as he was of the opinion the gelding did not feel right in its action en route to the barriers, a subsequent veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it to be lame in the off hind and was declared unfit to compete and subsequently declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 4.25pm.
The following deductions were applicable –
1st - 9c win, 17c place
2nd - 18c place,
3rd - 25c place.
Stewards questioned Trainer N Irwin in regards to the pre-race soundness of that gelding, and she advised that she was happy with the gelding and had no concerns as to the gelding’s fitness when presenting it to race. Trainer N Irwin was advised he must present a veterinary certificate of soundness for the gelding prior to racing again.
WATCH THE DUCK (S Wiseman) – Bumped at the start.
LEANNA BELLE (V Arnott) – Jumped awkwardly and bumped. Subsequent to the race Trainer C Pollard reported the mares near fore shoe had shifted in running and as a result had pulled up lame in that leg. Trainer C Pollard was advised he must present a veterinary certificate of soundness for the mare prior to racing again.

Race 6: Aus Projects NT / Hankel Moffatt Memorial 0-64 Handicap – 1700m
JET JACKSON (S Wiseman) – Bumped at the start.
HANDBALL (C Hunter) – Jumped awkwardly and bumped, race wide into the first turn. The gelding underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers after kicking a partition leaving the mounting yard, subsequently the gelding was passed fit to race.
