TO THE POINT (C Hunter) – Commenced awkwardly.

Race 3: Shane Kavanagh Memorial BM54 Handicap – 1200m
ICE ICE BABY (P Denton) – Bounded at the start and lost ground. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider could offer no explanation for the poor run and advised that despite his efforts the gelding was off the bit through running. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer G Clarke advised that after recovering well following the event, he intends to remove the visors and nose band from the gelding and race over an increased distance next start. Stewards noted this explanation and will monitor the performance.

Race 4: Ladbrokes Summer Sprint Series (Heat 4 )0-64 Handicap – 1100m
Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.
PATRIA (P Denton) – Bumped at the start.
PAPALET (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.
THUNDER PEAK (C Hunter) – Bounded at the start.
LOCKDOWN SALLY (D Gillett) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 5: Silks Chinese New Year Banquet 10th February 0-58 Handicap – 1000m
At the request of SKY Channel the start time of this event was amended to 5.10pm.
POCKET PISTOL (J Hampson) – Impeded from heels near the 200m and angled inwards to secure clear running at the 150m.
STARS THE LIMIT (W Davis) – Bumped at the start. The veterinarian reported the gelding returned with blood in the mouth from a laceration.
HENESTROSA (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly.
ONE FOR ANNA (A Maloney) – Bumped at the start. Lay outwards through the middle stages. Shifted considerable ground outwards when being ridden along in the straight. Apprentice L Maloney was shown the patrol films and cautioned for failing to make an effort to straighten his mount when he was aware the mare was shifting ground under pressure in the home straight. The veterinarian reported the gelding returned with blood in the mouth from a laceration.
DREAM CHANCE (D Gillett) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Veered outwards shortly after and bumped another runner.
TUFFNUT (S Wiseman) – Crowded shortly after the start. Attempted to buck for a number of strides near the 900m. Rider advised that her Brest plate had snapped during running Trainer M Nyhan was advised that a warning will now be placed on the gelding in this regard.
MYSTERY FLYER (E Lines) – Raced wide throughout. Hung outwards through the middle stages placing the apprentice at a disadvantage in controlling her mount. Trainer P Cole was advised to engage a senior rider for the mare at future starts. Trainer further advised the mare would now be sent for a spell.
