EIGHT ON THE DOT (NZ) (A Maloney) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

MR NAFPLION (C Hunter) – Raced wide throughout.

GARRUCHA (D Morgan) – Commenced awkwardly.

FINAL JEDI (D Gillett) – Lay outwards entering the home straight.

BON BANDEAU (I Luximon) – Raced wide throughout.

SLINKY’S STAR (S Wiseman) – Bumped at the start.

Race 2: ALICE SPRINGS TOYOTA HANDICAP 0-70 1200m

HALGARD (NZ) (J Hampson) – Commenced awkwardly and knuckled. Shifted inwards abruptly near the 150m.

MILES POWER (A Maloney) – Bumped at the start.

MARIMENKO (GB) (J Todd) – Impeded when laying inwards under pressure near the 200m.

UNPREDICTED (J Philpot) – Hung outwards from the 600m until after entering the home straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near fore. A veterinary clearance will be required prior to the gelding racing again.

Race 3: NEW MENU @ 1690 HANDICAP 0-64 1000m

KIKUYU (P Denton) – Slow into stride.

SUPER FAMOUS (S Wiseman) – Bumped, tightened for room and restrained near the 300m.

ASAHI BEARING (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly.

ZOUTONS (C Hunter) – Commenced awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Shifted in marginally and contact another runner near the 300m.

ACRES MIDNIGHT (P Crich) – Commenced awkwardly.

General: On inquiry it was established that near the 300m SUPER FAMOUS (S Wiseman) was tightened for room and restrained when racing between BEATBOX (D Gillett) which shifted out under pressure and ZOUTONS (C Hunter) which shifted in marginally at the same stage and made contact with SUPER FAMOUS. Stewards were satisfied that whilst no single rider was at fault in this incident, apprentice D Gillett was advised to show more care in similar circumstances when improving into the race.

CONSTANT CAUSE (P Denton) – Declared a late scratching at 8.36am on a vet certificate.

VARIARA (C Hunter) – Bumped at the start.

YOWZA (I Luximon) – Fractious prior to the start. Commenced awkwardly. Lay inwards under pressure in the straight with the rider having to stop riding and straighten his mount on two occasions.

FEED THE MONSTER (J Todd) – Bumped at the start.

DISSMAGIC (P Crich) – Lashed out in the enclosure striking the off hind leg on the fence. The mare underwent a veterinary examination at the barriers and was cleared to compete.

JUST HANG UP (D Morgan) – Raced wide from the 800m.

TORRATORI (A Maloney) – Raced wide into the first turn.
