General: The race meeting was set down to be run on Saturday 15th April, 2023 but due to the state of the track as a result of inclement weather the meeting was postponed to Monday 17 April, 2023.

 

Race 1: DREAMEDIA HANDICAP 1200m

NORSE MYTHOLOGY (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure over the concluding stages.

KIKUYU (P Denton) – Raced wide throughout.

TRYSTOFF (D Morgan) – Rider accidentally dropped his whip at the 250m.

BRAT (D Gillett) – Commenced awkwardly. Raced wide from the 800m.

JURA MAC (S Wiseman) – Reared on jumping.

Race 2: CENTRELINE SADDLERY & COUNTRY OUTFITTERS HANDICAP 1100m

HARPUNA (P Denton) – Steadied off the heels of a runner yielding ground passing the 700m. Raced wide in the home straight.

QUALIS (P Shiers) – Carried inwards by another runner shortly after the start.

REAL VALENTIA (J Hampson) – Fractious in the barriers and bumped shortly after the start.

ZOUTONS (C Hunter) – Shifted inwards onto another runner over the concluding stages.

FLUFFY BUNNY FEET (D Gillett) – Raced wide until the 600m.

BEAR FOREVER (J Todd) – Bumped shortly after the start. Yielded ground from the 700m.

GLACIER GREY (S Wiseman) – Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide on straightening.

FAIR GO (S Tsaikos) – Fractious prior to the start.

REDENZO LAD (I Luximon) – Inclined to lay outwards under pressure rounding the home turn.

NORDIC LASS (A Maloney) – Steadied off heels when racing forward approaching the 400m.

Race 3: THE SOLDIER LIGHTNING 1000m

EXPERT WITNESS (P Shiers) – Reared as the start was effected and the barrier attendant had hold of the gelding’s bridle. The Stewards were of the opinion that the gelding was denied a fair start under the provisions of AR204 and was therefore declared a non-starter at 1.38pm.

BAR GEM (D Morgan) – Stood flat footed losing ground. Raced wide throughout.

IDEAS MAN (W Davis) – Inclined to shift outwards under pressure from the 250m.

I AM THE FOX (P Shiers) – Bumped at the start.

MUG’S GAME (S Wiseman) – Commenced awkwardly.

ZELRING (A Maloney) – Raced wide throughout.

VENTING (P Denton) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

MANGIONE (C Hunter) – Bumped another runner approaching the 1200m.

JUST HANG UP (I Luximon) – Inconvenienced between runners shortly after the start.

Race 5: GET PHYSICAL MAIDEN PLATE SET WEIGHTS 1400m

ITALIAN AGENT (NZ) (S Wiseman) – Inclined to lay inwards under pressure from the top of the straight.

MARSYUS (J Todd) – Slow into stride.

FINAL JEDI (D Gillett) – Inclined to lay outwards rounding the home turn and down the length of the straight.

Race 6: LIGHTS N FANZ R US HANDICAP 1400m

SPIELBERG (P Denton) – Commenced awkwardly.

SIENNA’S CHOICE (C Hunter) – Lay outwards under pressure over the final 100m.

STRADARI (W Davis) – Bumped and began to yield ground from the 500m.

WELL KNOWN (NZ) (S Wiseman) – Slow into stride.

Race 7: 1690 RESTRAURANT NT GUINEAS 3-YO SET WEIGHTS 1600m

SLINKY’S STAR (S Wiseman) – Declared a late scratching at 12.01pm after suffering a bout of colic. Trainer M Nyhan advised he must present a veterinary clearance for the filly prior to racing again.

ANKLE ROLEX (J Hampson) – Inclined to over race in the early and middle stages.

PERISSEUO (P Denton) – Slow into stride.

JEWEL ROCA (NZ) (C Hunter) – Yielded ground from the 450m. A veterinary examination revealed the filly to have sustained an injury to the off fore tendon. Trainer B Cooke advised that he must present a veterinary clearance and the filly must barrier trial satisfactorily prior to racing again.
