Race 1: ANZAC Day Races 25 April Handicap BM76 – 1300m
Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.
The start of this race was delayed several minutes due to two veterinary inspections.
HE’S ESSENTIAL (J Todd) – Underwent a veterinary examination after arriving at the barriers and when found to be lame in the near hind leg was subsequently declared a late withdrawal by the Stewards at 2.46pm. Trainer G Clarke was advised he must present a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to racing again. Deductions of 40c win and 32c place were applicable to all successful bets placed prior to 2.46pm.
SIAKAM (P Shiers) – Reared in the barriers and after undergoing a veterinary examination was cleared to compete.
SACCHARO (W Davis) – Bumped at the start.
PRINCE RUBAN (A Sweeney) – Commenced awkwardly and lost ground.
BON’S YOUR BACK (H Le Blanc) – Bumped at the start.

Race 2: Darwin Cup Carnival On Sale Handicap 0-64 – 1200m
Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.
DEVILS DELIGHT (J Todd) – Raced in restricted room leaving the 200m.
STRAYA PRIDE (A Sweeney) – Raced wide from the 600m.

Race 3: BTC Constructions Handicap 0-58 – 1200m
MOTIVATED MISS (V Arnott) – Yielded ground from the 300m. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
DANGER MAN (H Le Blanc) – Rider was obliged to take a hand off the rein to readjust her goggles and as a result near the 700m became momentarily unbalanced and lost momentum. Impeded for a clear run near the 200m. The veterinarian reported the gelding required treatment for an ulcerated right eye.

Race 4: Cleanaway TROBIS Maiden Plate SW – 1100m
Stewards interviewed trainer P Cole in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.
EASE OFFA (R Vigar) – Bumped by another runner and unbalanced near the 650m. Raced in restricted room and crowded passing the 500m.
BRISKET (J Todd) – Raced wide throughout.
LI’L BRAZEN (H Le Blanc) – Bumped with another runner near the 650m.
General - On inquiry it was established that rounding the 650m turn LI'L BRAZEN (H Le Blanc) shifted in despite the efforts of the rider, bumping with EASE OFFA which became unbalanced. Approaching the 500m EASE OFFA raced in restricted room and was crowded when again racing inside LI'L BRAZEN. Apprentice H Le Blanc was cautioned and advised that in similar circumstances she must alleviate pressure and allow sufficient galloping room to runners to her inside.
