BORLUNG (P Shiers) – was declared a late scratching at 2.14pm when fractious in the barriers and after getting its leg over a petition and undergoing a veterinary examination was found to be lame in the near fore leg.

Stewards ordered that all bets wagered on BORLUNG be refunded and all successful bets placed prior to 2.41 pm were subject to the following deductions –

MOUSSAMBANI 7c place

Trainer B Richard’s representative was advised that a warning would now be placed on the gelding in regards to its barrier manners and a vet clearance must be presented prior to racing again.

FOXY LULU (M Hagley) – Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout.

Race 2: Benchmark 54 Handicap 1200m

Stewards interviewed dual licensee C Spry in relation to his riding instructions as he had multiple runners in the event.

MELANION (P Denton) – Bumped at the start.

CHOICE APPROACH (R Vigar) – Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout.

FROM FIFTH (J Todd) – Raced wide from the 600m.

MISS MOSSY MCLAREN (B Huppatz) – Commenced awkwardly.

Race 3: 0-58 Handicap 1100m

At the request of SKY channel the start time of this event was amended to 3.20pm.

ROCKATOMIC (K Galdwin) – Lay inwards under pressure in the straight.

MY SNIP (J Todd) – Raced wide in running.

ABLE KEN (R Vigar) – Raced wide on straightening. Rider was penalised for returning 1kg overweight following the race.

Race 4: 0 – 64 Handicap 1100m

Stewards interviewed trainer C Pollard in relation to his riding instructions as he had multiple runners in the event.

NICCOROSSA (P Denton) – was declared a late scratching at 4.01pm when found to be lame in the off fore following a veterinary examination which was carried out at the request of its rider.

Stewards ordered that all bets wagered on NICOROSSA be refunded and all successful bets placed prior to 4.01pm were subject to the following deductions –

SABAI SABAI 5c win 7c place

JOLLY BOY 10c place

LOOKATIM GO 12c place

Trainer B Richard’s representative was advised that a vet clearance for the mare must be presented prior to racing again.

DIVINE RED (B Davis) – Following the unplaced performance a post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have an elevated heart rate.

HOWDEE (B Huppatz) – Raced wide throughout.

LADY ALCATRAZ (C Spry) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that his mount was hard ridden from the 700m and did not finish the race off as anticipated. Post race the Club veterinarian reported the mare was showing signs of being in season.

Race 5: Benchmark 76 Handicap 1000m

Stewards interviewed dual licensee C Spry in relation to his riding instructions as he had multiple runners in the event.

HE’S OUR WOODY (P Denton) – Returned having bled from both nostrils. As the gelding had previously bled on 26 May, 2018 it is now ineligible to start in any race in accordance with AR53(5). The Stewards intend to inquire into the circumstances relating to the post race reporting of this incident.

NEUSCHWANSTEIN (R Oakford) – Crowded and bumped at the start

FEDERAL COURT (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly.

HOOK ME UP (P Crich) – Bumped at the start.

Summary

Swab samples were taken from all winners. Pre race samples were taken from BROOKLYN, JOLLY BOY, SABAI SABAI, ROCKMEARTIE, MISS MOSSY MCLAREN, COMPERE.
