General – As apprentice jockey L Maloney was indisposed due to illness the following replacements and actions were approved:

Race 1: BOLD TROPIC – D Gillett, Race 2: REALTIN – D Gillett, Race 3: INCIVILTY – Scratched, Race 6: TAIPAN TOMMY – Scratched.

Apprentice Jockey L Maloney must produce a medical clearance prior to riding again.

 

Race 1: Scope Building Handicap BM54 - 1200m

PROPHESIER (D Hirini) – Commenced awkwardly.

HEBEL (S Tsaikos) – Commenced awkwardly.

Race 2: Imparja Handicap BM54 – 1200m

RIVER FROST (D Hirini) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

SUPREME GOAL (S Tsaikos) – Shifted inwards when being ridden along shortly after the start.

CALIPARI (W Cave) – Commenced awkwardly and restrained to avoid heels shortly after the start and over raced through the middle stages.

REALTIN (D Gillett) – Commenced awkwardly.

SPLISH SPLASH (H Le Blanc) – Slow to begin.

MUSELET (A Stead) – Cantankerous in the mounting enclosure and rider was obliged to dismount on several occasions after entering the course proper due to the mare’s unruly behaviour. The mare struck the near side hip against the fence when moving onto the track and after undergoing a veterinary examination at the barriers was cleared to compete. Cast the off fore plate in running. Trainer P Gardner was advised that a warning will now be placed the mare’s pre-race behaviour.

General – On inquiry it was established that shortly after the start SUPREME GOAL (S Tsaikos) shifted in when being ridden along resulting in CALIPARI (W Cave) having to be restrained from heels. Whilst Stewards accepted that SUPREME GOAL shifted ground quickly, jockey S Tsaikos was advised to make a greater effort to relieve pressure when shifting ground in future.

Race 3: JJ’S Waste and Recycling Handicap C2 - 1100m

BUCKLEUP BUDDY (P Denton) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

DR VENKMAN (A Stead) – Commenced awkwardly. Shifted off heels over the concluding stages.

HEY BULL (H Le Blanc) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped, losing ground.

Race 4: Ladbrokes Odds Surge Handicap 0-64 – 1100m

SQUARE CUT (W Cave) – Raced wide in the middle stages and into the home straight.

CHIEF WHITE SOCK (S Tsaikos) – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

VENTING (P Denton) – Reared on jumping. Held up for clear running approaching the 400m.
