BEYOND READY (H Le Blanc) – Lay inwards under pressure inside the final 50m and brushed with another runner over the concluding stages.
AMERICAN JAZZ (A Nicholls) – Contacted by another runner over the concluding stages.
HE’S ESSENTIAL (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Raced keenly in the early stages.
MARVELOUS NIGHT (K Sardelic) – Bumped at the start. Resented the kickback after being crossed near the 1000m and then lost momentum when off the bit through the middle stages.

Race 2: Darwin Cup Carnival We’re All In! Handicap 0-58 – 1200m
Following the viewing of the patrol films, jockey S Logan rider of the fourth placed BEATIFICATION lodged a protest against the second placed ROYAL SIGNAL ridden by jockey V Arnott alleging interference rounding the first turn. Stewards considered the submissions of the relevant parties and it was established that near the 700m ROYAL SIGNAL shifted inwards resulting in BEATIFICATION being hampered. The Stewards were not of the opinion that the interference suffered was greater than the margin between both runners at the finish and therefore the protest was dismissed and correct weight declared.
TWO TIMES TWICE (H Le Blanc) – Bumped at the start.
BEATIFICATION (S Logan) – Bumped at the start. Hampered passing the 700m.
NEW ENTERPRISE (K Sardelic) – Bumped at the start. Lay outwards when resenting the kickback in the early stages and raced wide from the 600m.
General – On inquiry jockey V Arnott (ROYAL SIGNAL) was reprimanded for careless riding under AR131(a) for permitting her mount to shift inwards near the 700m when not clear resulting in BEATIFICATION being hampered.

Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.
WOLFBURN (J Todd) – Raced wide throughout.
BON’S YOUR BACK (H Le Blanc) – Commenced awkwardly.
PINK PANTHER (S Logan) – Raced in restricted room passing the 600m.

Stewards interviewed trainer P Cole in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.
NO BRAKES (J Todd) – Bumped heavily at the start. Impeded near the 500m.
ALPHA STREET (A Nicholls) – Rider took no harm after being dislodged from the gelding after entering the course proper. The riderless gelding was promptly recaptured, and after undergoing a veterinary examination was cleared to compete.
SAXON BEACH (W Davis) – Raced keenly through the middle stages.
THE FLYING LANZINI (A Sweeney) – Commenced awkwardly.
AUSSIE JAWSIE (H Le Blanc) – Difficult to load. Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Carried outwards and steadied passing the 600m. Returned from the race with blood in the mouth.
GO GO DOLLY (J Hampson) – Raced greenly in running and wide throughout.
MLINZI (R Vigar) – Commenced awkwardly and raced greenly in running. Returned from the race with blood in the mouth.
MY REWARD (K Sardelic) – Slow into stride. Rider reported his mount resented the kickback and raced fiercely passing the 600m.

DOWN THE WICKET (H Le Blanc) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Bumped with another runner over the concluding stages.
KISSING SUPIDO (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly unbalancing the rider. Bumped with another runner over the concluding stages.
PATRIOTIC KING (K Sardelic) – Carried inwards and bumped at the start.
SUPER FAMOUS (A Nicholls) – Tightened for room between runners at the start.
WILD BEAU (A Sweeney) – Bounded at the start.
TELLEZ (P Denton) – Fractious prior to the start.

Stewards interviewed trainer C Pollard in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.
ANKLE ROLEX (P Shiers) – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and impeded from heels on straightening.
DESERT MIST (A Nicholls) – Commenced awkwardly.
MISS MOOV (A Sweeney) – When questioned regarding the performance rider advised that from the wide barrier he rode vigorously to lead as instructed but his mount commenced to yield ground from the 800m and was eased down in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have an elevated heart rate. Trainer C Pollard was advised the mare must compete satisfactorily in a barrier trial prior to racing again.
WORLD AFFAIRS (P Denton) – Slow into stride.
REDSNAP (J Hampson) – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off-hind leg. Trainer C Pollard was advised he must present a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to racing again.
