Race 1: BTC Constructions Handicap 0-70 – 1600m

FABERGE TZAR (J Hampson) – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

Race 2: Brittain Racing TROBIS Handicap 0-58 – 1200m

FIERCE LEGEND (S Tsaikos) – Raced wide from the 600m.

ALPHA STREET (A Nicholls) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider was of the opinion that his mount did not finish the race off as anticipated due to the solid pace set in the early and middle stages.

HALLOWED GROUND (A Herrmann) – Raced wide throughout.

VALABING (K Sardelic) – Took charge of the rider in the preliminary and after undergoing a veterinary examination was cleared to compete. Bounded at the start and lost ground.

Race 3: Scarvila Room is Open TROBIS Handicap 0-58 – 1200m

DUMMY SPIT (S Logan) – Crowded for room and clipped a heel near the 650m. Returned with a laceration to the off-fore pastern. Cast the off-fore plate in running.

LUNA FIELD (J Booth) – Over raced from the 800m until taken outwards from heels approaching the 650m.

IMPULSIVITY (J Todd) – Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout.

NY KEE (D Gillett) – Crowded between runners at the start. Raced wide from the 600m.

ROC DE RUSSIAN (K Sardelic) – Bumped at the start.

AUSSIE JAWSIE (J Hampson) – Delayed the start after proving difficult to load. Trainer P Cole was advised that a warning would now be placed on the filly in this regard. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

General – On inquiry, it was established that leaving the 800m LUNA FIELD (J Booth) commenced to over race and approaching the 650m shifted out from heels and DUMMY SPIT (S Logan) improved to the inside. A short distance later LUNA FIELD shifted back in marginally resulting in DUMMY SPIT being crowded and as a result clipped a heel. Stewards were satisfied that apprentice J Booth was having difficulty negotiating the first turn due to her mount’s racing manner and therefore no further action was taken.

Race 4: Happy 70th Birthday Henry Crossley Handicap 0-66 – 1200m

Stewards interviewed trainer K Healy in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

LOCHLORIAN (J Booth) – Dislodged the rider approaching the barriers and after completing a circuit of the track riderless, the gelding was declared a late withdrawal by the Stewards acting on veterinary advice at 2.38pm. Apprentice J Booth was uninjured in this incident.

All bets placed on LOCHLORIAN were ordered to be refunded and the following deductions were applicable to successful bets placed prior to 2.38pm:

VILLA SEVENTYNINE (K Sardelic) – Raced wide throughout. Rider reported his mount had a tendency to lay out in running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

HE’S ESSENTIAL (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly and veered inwards at the start.

TELLEZ (P Denton) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 5: On Fire Racing Handicap 0-62 – 1100m

DELUSIONALDICTATOR (J Booth) – Rider reported her mount resented the kickback in the early and middle stages.

WILD BEAU (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

PATRIOTIC KING (A Nicholls) – Bumped at the start. Tightened for room and restrained near the 550m.

ENVENOMATE (K Sardelic) – Rider reported his mount resented the kickback through the early stages and raced wide from the 600m.

HELL FIRE MISS (J Lyon) – Raced wide throughout.

General - On inquiry it was established that near the 550m, CANADA BAY (S Logan) when racing off the bit shifted in slightly away from HELL FIRE MISS (J Lyon) resulting in PATRIOTIC KING (A Nicholls) being tightened for room and restrained. Stewards were satisfied that no rider was at fault in this incident.

Race 6: JSM Civils Handicap 0-76 – 1000m

LUMBER PUNK (J Todd) – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground.

CRIPPS TONITE (W Davis) – Bumped shortly after the start.

HEY LITTLE SISTER (K Sardelic) – Commenced awkwardly, veered inwards and bumped. Raced wide throughout.

Race 7: Tailor-Made Builders Maiden Plate SW – 1300m

Stewards interviewed trainer K Healy in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

THANK GOD I GOTHIM (S Logan) – Bumped at the start. Held up rounding the home turn. Returned with an abrasion to the near-fore fetlock.

WICKED WISH (A Nicholls) – Slow into stride.

GRAYSVILLE (J Lyon) – Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout.

PUB CRAWL (D Gillett) – Bumped at the start.

NO I’M NOT (J Booth) – Rider reported her mount sustained a laceration to the off-fore leg following the event after stumbling when returning to the saddling enclosure.

ROSSANADO (P Shiers) – Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout.

SASSY SUMMER (J Hampson) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

SIAKAM (S Logan) – Raced keenly in the back straight.

CONVINCEBILITY (J Booth) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 9: TAB ROANT Gold Cup (Div 2) – 1300m

HADOUKEN (P Shiers) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance, rider advised that after beginning well he settled behind the leaders but near the 1100m the gelding commenced to resent the kickback and lost momentum. He explained that the gelding was off the bit from thereon and drifted back to race in a rearward position. Trainer P Robl subsequently reported the gelding had recovered well in the days following the race.

FUNNYIFITWON (J Booth) – Raced wide throughout.

HETTINGER (J Hampson) – Obliged to steady back from heels leaving the 1100m until taken outwards near the 1000m.
