Race 1: Solis Real Estate Handicap BMNT – 1600m

CACOFONIX (A Nicholls) – Raced wide from the 600m.

SACCHARO (R Vigar) – Dwelt at the start. Returned having bled from the right nostril. Trainer P Cole was advised the gelding must gallop satisfactorily prior to racing again in accordance with AR79.

BLOWN AWAY (A Herrmann) – Commenced awkwardly.

Race 2: DCOH Mile 0-66 – 1600m

IKNOWHATYOUREDOING (J Booth) – Raced wide on straightening.

MARVELOUS NIGHT (S Logan) – Fractious prior to the start. Bumped on jumping.

THE FINAL WORD (K Sardelic) – Over raced in the back straight and lay outwards in running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have an elevated heart rate.

STEP FORWARD (P Denton) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

Race 3: Novotel Darwin Handicap 0-58 – 1300m

ANKLE ROLEX (J Todd) – Lay outwards in running, wide throughout and yielded ground from the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

BEATIFICATION (J Booth) – Commenced awkwardly.

RISING WATER (P Shiers) – Crowded and steadied at the start.

KESSLER (V Arnott) – When questioned regarding the improved performance rider advised that in her opinion with the addition of blinkers the gelding was more suited when able to lead as it does not appreciate the kickback. Trainer A Forster agreed with these comments and further added that in her view the gelding also appreciated the drop back in distance of today’s event.

YOUR SHOUT GINGIE (A Herrmann) – Slow into stride. Returned having bled from the right nostril. Trainer N Dyer was advised the gelding must gallop satisfactorily prior to racing again in accordance with AR79.

Race 4: Textum Roofing Handicap 0-76 – 1300m

Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

BEYOND READY (J Booth) – Returned having bled from both nostrils. Trainer K Lamprecht was advised of the embargo placed on the gelding in accordance with AR79.

GALAXY GENERAL (A Sweeney) – Knuckled at the start and veered outwards.

SHAKATTAK (J Todd) – Held up for clear running approaching the 400m.

TANNENBURG (A Nicholls) – Held up for clear running from the 500m to the 250m.

LIMITED RISK (J Hampson) – Commenced awkwardly. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance, rider advised that her mount had a hard run without cover and therefore had not finished the race off as anticipated and in her opinion had not appreciated the step up in distance after racing in consecutive weeks.

TUBTHUMPER (R Vigar) – Returned having bled from the left nostril. Trainer P Cole was advised the gelding must gallop satisfactorily prior to racing again in accordance with AR79.

Race 6: Northcrest Open Sprint – 1100m

Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

FIELD OF FLUTES (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly and veered inwards at the start. Raced ungenerously until near the 600m and lay inwards under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be coughing and returned with an elevated heart rate.

EARLY CROW (K Sardelic) – Returned having bled from the right nostril. Trainer D Leech was advised the gelding must gallop satisfactorily prior to racing again in accordance with AR79.

Race 7: DCOH Handicap 0-70 – 1100m

Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

CANTON KID (R Vigar) – Commenced awkwardly. Rider’s right foot was displaced from the stirrup in this incident and he regained its use near the 1050m.

PHAROAH MAGIC (A Sweeney) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

DEVILS DELIGHT (A Nicholls) – Bumped and crowded at the start.

HELLO WORLD (S Logan) – Returned having bled from the right nostril. Trainer C Nash was advised the gelding must gallop satisfactorily prior to racing again in accordance with AR79.

ORION THE HUNTER (V Arnott) – Raced wide throughout.

HELLIVIT (P Denton) – Commenced awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.

KISSING SUPIDO (J Todd) – Raced wide throughout.

Stewards interviewed trainer P Cole in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

PUB CRAWL (J Booth) – Bumped at the start. Raced ungenerously rounding the first turn.

GRAYSVILLE (P Shiers) – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

POINT LOMA (J Todd) – A tongue tie was listed as a gear change but due to the gelding’s cantankerous manner it could not be fitted by the trainer and Stewards therefore gave approval for the gelding to race without this gear. This information was disseminated. Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

SASSY SUMMER (J Hampson) – Knuckled at the start. Rider reported her mount raced greenly in running.

SAXON BEACH (W Davis) – Steadied outward from heels near the 400m.

CASSETTE (K Sardelic) – Bumped at the start.

Race 9: DCOH Darwin Guineas SW 3YO – 1600m

All runners arrived on course 2 hours prior to start time.

BRUNO BRUNO (R Vigar) – Scrambled at the start.

SIMPLY JUST (K Sardelic) – Commenced awkwardly.

SNORE ROOM (W Davis) – Faltered in its action passing the 1400m and was eased down by the rider. The veterinarian reported the gelding had sustained a fracture to the near-fore leg and was euthanized on humane grounds.

VANGUARD LEGEND (J Hampson) – Slipped over in the mounting enclosure and after undergoing a veterinary examination at the barriers was cleared to compete. Crowded passing the 650m. Steadied near the 500m. Held up for clear running from on straightening until taken outwards near the 250m. Shifted outwards under pressure inside the final 100m.

PIGEON (J Lyon) – Dwelt at the start.

A post mortem sample taken from SNORE ROOM (R9).
