EQUAL BALANCE (J Hampson) – Contacted the inside running rail racing into the first turn.
HE’S ESSENTIAL (J Todd) – Knuckled at the start and then bumped and unbalanced.
YAKI ISHI (S Logan) – Resaddled behind the barriers delaying the start.
FABERGE TZAR (K Sardelic) – Commenced awkwardly.
NEW ENTERPRISE (J Lyon) – Raced wide from the 700m.

Race 2: SIXT Car & Truck Rental NT Handicap 0-62 – 1300m
PHYSICAL GRAFFITI (J Todd) – Fractious prior to the start. Commenced awkwardly and veered inwards losing ground. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that his mount was off the bit through running and in his opinion raced in a flat manner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a laceration to the tongue.
ANKLE ROLEX (D Gillett) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 3: Magic Millions Tried Horse Sale Handicap BM76 – 1200m
Stewards interviewed trainer K Petrick in relation to the riding instructions she intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.
BON’S PRIDE (V Arnott) – Shifted outwards under pressure from the 100m.
THROW AT DA STUMPS (R Vigar) – Bumped at the start. Rider reported that his saddle shifted back near the 200m.
BAHAMA BAY (P Denton) – Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout.
HELLIVIT (P Shiers) – Commenced awkwardly. Cast the near-fore plate in running.

Race 4: Aspire Weight-For-Age – 1200m
Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.
LUMBER PUNK (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly.
RISING SPHERE (A Nicholls) – Crowded at the start.

Race 5: Sitzler Sprint 0-70 – 1100m
MR HAVE A CHAT (S Logan) – Clipped heels and mistrode passing the 900m. Lay outwards from the 600m.
CANTON KID (R Vigar) – Raced wide throughout.
DOWN THE WICKET (H Le Blanc) – Steadied and lost ground passing the 900m.
General – On inquiry jockey A Nicholls (PHAROAH MAGIC) pleaded guilty to a charge under AR131(a) of engaging in careless riding for permitting his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear near the 900m causing MR HAVE A CHAT (S Logan) to mistride after clipping heels and further causing DOWN THE WICKET (H Le Blanc) to be steadied losing ground. A Nicholls had his license to ride in races suspended for 1 NT (feature) meeting to expire after 26 July 2025.

Race 6: SignCity Handicap 0-58 – 1100m
COLLISON (A Sweeney) – Shifted inwards under pressure in the straight.
CYCLONITE (J Hampson) – Bumped at the start.
BAD MAN (S Tsaikos) – Bounded at the start. Slow to muster early speed. Rider reported he was struck in the head by a clod in the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
JUST FOR MARCUS (R Vigar) – Shifted inwards under pressure leaving the 100m with the rider having to stop and straighten his mount near the 50m.
SOUL SPIRIT (W Davis) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped heavily at the start.
TILUSSION (J Lyon) – Raced wide throughout.
1ST VALKUR 2ND JUST FOR MARCUS 3RD CYCLONITE
Race 7: Buntine Handicap – 2050m
IKNOWHATYOUREDOING – declared a late scratching at 11.43am after sustaining an injury to the near-fore leg in a stable mishap.
CACOFONIX (A Nicholls) – Held up for clear running around the home turn and as a result was crowded and bumped near the 300m.
SACCHARO (R Vigar) – Slow into stride.
HE’S MAVERICK (J Hampson) – Held up for clear running from the 550m to the 400m and bumped at the 300m.
DESERT MIST (J Todd) – Steadied getting its head up when negotiating the 1600m turn and again when racing keenly passing the 1400m. Raced wide on straightening.
STEP FORWARD (S Logan) – Commenced awkwardly.
1ST CACOFONIX 2ND HE’S MAVERICK 3RD UNQUESTIONABLY
Race 8: Ladbrokes NT Derby SW 3YO – 2050m
All runners arrived on course 2 hours prior to start time.
BOLLON (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly.
BRUNO BRUNO (R Vigar) – Fractious prior to the start and commenced awkwardly.
CAPITOL HILL (J Lyon) – Shifted outwards under pressure from the 150m.
GRAYSVILLE (P Shiers) – Cast the near-fore plate in running.
PUB CRAWL (K Sardelic) – Yielded ground from the 800m. Shifted in when under pressure near the 700m and became unbalanced after bumping another runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had an elevated heart rate.
RAMPAZETTO (J Booth) – Bumped and crowded at the 700m.
STAR CASINO (A Nicholls) – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
THE MEN WENT HOME (P Denton) – Raced wide from the 600m.
VANGUARD LEGEND (J Hampson) – Held up rounding the home turn.
VIERI (S Logan) – Bumped and crowded near the 700m and then tightened for room and restrained passing the 650m. Restrained from the heels of a tiring runner near the 400m.
PIGEON (D Gillett) – Slow into stride. Restrained from the heels of a tiring runner near the 300m and angled outwards across heels at the 250m.
General – On inquiry it was established that near the 700m PUB CRAWL (K Sardelic) shifted in slightly under pressure becoming unbalanced after contacting VIERI (S Logan) which was crowded and in turn shifted in and bumped and crowded RAMPAZETTO (J Booth). Approaching the 650m GRAYSVILLE (P Shiers) shifted in abruptly towards the inside rail despite the efforts of the rider causing VIERI to be tightened for room and restrained. Stewards were satisfied that no rider was at fault in these incidents.

General:
Post-race swab samples taken from all winners and VANGUARD LEGEND (R8).
Pre-race samples were taken from: PHYSICAL GRAFFITI, REAL DIVINE, HELLIVIT, MR HAVE A CHAT, CANADA BAY, TILUSSION, VALKUR, HE’S MAVERICK and all runners engaged in race 8.
All riders were breath tested for the presence of alcohol.
Reprimands:
Race 8 – Jockey J Todd was reprimanded for a whip breach, AR132(7)(a)(ii).
Suspensions:
Race 5 – Jockey A Nicholls was suspended for 1 NT (feature) meeting for engaging in careless riding, AR131(a).
Fines:
Trainer N Dyer was fined $100 for the late notification of a rider for his runners engaged in races 1 & 6, NT111.
Race 8 – Jockey S Tsaikos was fined $400 for a whip breach, AR132(7)(a)(ii).
