Race 1: Darwin Racing Maiden SW – 1100m

CEE PEE ONE (J Lyon) – Raced wide from 600m.

THANK GOD I GOTHIM (A Sweeney) – Tightened for room and restrained at the 700m.

PREDICTING (R Vigar) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

STARLITE DEXTER (J Hampson) – Bumped at the start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

CASSETTE (H Le Blanc) – Commenced awkwardly.

NATURE GIRL (K Sardelic) – Commenced awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.

General – On inquiry apprentice J Hampson (STARLITE DEXTER) pleaded guilty to a charge under AR131(a) of engaging in careless riding. The specifics being that near the 700m she angled her mount inwards and permitted the colt to shift ground when insufficiently clear, resulting in THANK GOD I GOTHIM (A Sweeney) being tightened for room and restrained. Apprentice J Hampson had her permit to ride in races suspended for 1 NT (feature) meeting to expire after 30 July 2025.

Race 2: Silk Laser Clinics Flying Sprint – 1100m

Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

FIELD OF FLUTES (K Sardelic) – Returned having bled from the right nostril. Trainer G Clarke was advised the gelding must gallop satisfactorily prior to racing again in accordance with AR79.

HELLO WORLD (S Logan) – Commenced awkwardly.

DAMO DAYZ (P Shiers) – Slow into stride. Cast the off-hind plate in running.

POLARISING (J Lyon) – Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout.

Race 3: Mittys Handicap 0-66 – 1000m

WILD BEAU (J Booth) – Commenced awkwardly.

PATRIOTIC KING (J Todd) – Lay outwards and raced wide from the 600m.

Race 4: TAB We’re On TROBIS 3YO Handicap BM68 – 1200m

MOUGENOT (K Sardelic) – Became fractious in the barriers and after becoming cast was declared a late scratching by order of the Stewards at 3.06pm. Trainer K Healy was advised that the gelding must barrier trial satisfactorily prior to racing again.

All bets placed on the gelding were ordered to be refunded and the following deductions were applicable to successful bets placed prior to 3.06pm:

ALL INCLUSIVE (S Tsaikos) – Shifted outwards under pressure over the final 100m.

BUADES (J Booth) – Crowded at the start. Raced keenly between the 850m to the 700m. Held up rounding the home turn and impeded for a clear run near the 200m.

ALPHA STREET (J Todd) – Steadied leaving the 850m when in restricted room and over-reacted having to then be restrained, losing ground near the 800m.

MIAMI BABY (J Lyon) – Slow into stride.

BUCKLEUP BUDDY (P Denton) – Fractious prior to the start. Raced wide throughout.

DANCER FOR MONEY (W Davis) – Fractious prior to the start. The veterinarian advised the filly returned with blood in the mouth from a laceration to the gum.

DYNAMIC THEORY (S Logan) – Veered outwards at the start.

ROSSANADO (P Shiers) – Cast the near-hind plate in running.

Race 5: TRNT Off The Track Handicap 0-58 – 1200m

COLLISON (A Sweeney) – Commenced awkwardly. Raced wide from the 600m.

CARAT TIME (V Arnott) – Slow into stride.

Race 6: Silks Darwin Handicap 0-70 – 1600m

Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

PINK PANTHER (J Todd) – Raced keenly in the back straight.

FUNNYIFITWON (R Vigar) – Commenced awkwardly.

MAGIC DEFENSE (P Denton) – Commenced awkwardly. Cast the off-hind plate in running.

EQUAL BALANCE (J Booth) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 7: TAB Metric Mile – 1600m

All runners arrived on course 2 hours prior to start time.

HASSELTOFF (H Le Blanc) – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near-fore leg. Trainer D Leech was advised that he must present a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to racing again.

BEAR STORY (A Sweeney) – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

CINQUE TORRI (P Shiers) – Trainer E Clarke advised she would instruct her rider not to lead from the wide barrier and race off the leader if possible. This change of riding instruction was disseminated. The gelding returned having bled from both nostrils. As this was the first occasion, the gelding is ineligible to race for 3 months in accordance with AR79.

WRITE YOUR NAME (J Hampson) – Crowded near the 1500m. Raced wide from the 650m.

WOLFBURN (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly. Steadied outwards near the 1500m.

VENTING (R Vigar) – Raced wide throughout.

HOLSTEIN (W Davis) – Crowded near the 1500m.

HETTINGER (J Booth) – Raced keenly for some distance leaving the 1200m. Shifted inwards under pressure from the 100m when tested with the whip. In the circumstances, apprentice J Booth was cautioned for not making a greater effort to correct her mount.

AWASH (J Lyon) – Carried outwards near the 1500m. Raced keenly passing the 1100m. Lay inwards on straightening with the rider changing the whip to his left hand near the 200m and the gelding shifted outwards near the 150m when tested with the whip.

General:

Post-race swab samples taken from all winners, HETTINGER (R7) and WRITE YOUR NAME (R7).

Pre-race samples were taken from: CEE PEE ONE, THANK GOD I GOTHIM, STARLITE DEXTER, MUNSTER, BLACK ZOUS, PATRIOTIC KING, FORGETABOUTIT, BEATIFICATION and all runners engaged in race 7.

All riders were breath tested for the presence of alcohol.
