Race 1: 1300Cummins Handicap C2 - 1200m

DELUSIONALDICTATOR (D McGillivray) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner. Bumped with another runner on several occasions becoming a little unbalanced passing the 100m.

General: Subsequent to this event D McGillivray (DELUSIONALDICTATOR) lodged a protest against the winner REVOLUTION RISING (D Hirini) alleging interference passing the 100m. Evidence was taken from both riders and trainers K Lamprecht and G Connor. It was established that approaching the 100m, ONLY THE BEST (H Le Blanc) racing along the rails, began to shift outwards under pressure onto REVOLUTION RISING which was already in restricted room, and tightened onto DELUSIONALDICTATOR which in-turn was shifting inwards slightly whilst trying to hold its ground. Stewards were satisfied that REVOLUTION RISING had no bearing on DELUSIONALDICTATOR being bumped and unbalanced passing the 100m and dismissed the protest and ordered all placings to stand.
