CARAT TIME (V Arnott) – Over raced in running. Raced up into restricted room approaching the 300m clipping heels of another runner momentarily unbalancing its rider and losing some ground.
STYLE AND GRACE (A Nicholls) – Over raced in the early and middle stages.
PEERLESS LAD (D Barton) – Inconvenienced for clear running from the 200m to the 100m having to steady outwards off heels to obtain clear running.
DANGER MAN (D Hirini) – Bumped at the start. Steadied off heels at the top of the straight when racing forward.
MAX ROCK (D Gillett) – Slow into stride.
MIGHTY ZOU (P Shiers) – Bumped at the start.
MISS MOOV (S Logan) – Bounded at the start. Lost its Tongue Tie during the event. Cast both hind shoes in running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have an elevated heart rate and to be lame in the near-fore. Trainer C Pollard was advised that he must present a veterinary clearance for the mare prior to racing again.
NO BRAKES (J Todd) – Bumped at the start.

Race 2: TAB Handicap 0-64 – 1300m
Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue his riders as the stable had multiple runners in the event.
CRAZY BRAVE (D Barton) – Bumped at the start.
FRAWLEY (W Davis) – Slow away and bumped at the start.
GLOBAL WONDER (A Sweeney) – Raced wide throughout. Rolled in under pressure from the 200m.
BEAU FACTOR (R Vigar) – Jumped awkwardly.
KISSING SUPIDO (J Todd) – Fractious in the barriers. Jumped awkwardly.
PRINCE RUBAN (A Nicholls) – Inclined to over race in the early stages having to be restrained off heels approaching the 1000m and in doing so hit the inside running rail on several occasions and again approaching the 700m.
JULY (S Logan) – Momentarily steadied off heels at the 200m.

DEVILS DELIGHT (A Nicholls) – Lay out abruptly under pressure from the 250m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
STRUCK GOLD (J Todd) – Jumped awkwardly. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages getting its head up. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had bled from the right nostril. Trainer E Clarke was advised the mare must gallop satisfactorily prior to racing again in accordance with AR79.
PEEL THE STICKERS (R Vigar) – Slow into stride having to be ridden hard early. Lay in under pressure over the concluding stages. Raced wide throughout.

Race 4: BTC Constructions Melbourne Cup Day On Sale Handicap BM54 – 1100m
PATRIOTIC KING (J Todd) – Bumped and crowded at the start.
CEE PEE ONE (D Hirini) – Bumped at the start. Failed to muster early speed losing ground. Raced wide into the straight.
SOUL SPIRIT (W Davis) – Jumped inwards abruptly bumping with another runner and in turn caused other runners to be tightened for room. When questioned, rider advised that it has had a tendency to do that in its previous starts but not to the extent that it displayed today. Trainer P Cole was advised that the mare must barrier trial and commence out of the barriers in a more tractable manner prior to racing again.

Race 5: ROANT TROBIS Handicap C2 – 1000m
Stewards interviewed trainer P Cole in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue his riders as the stable had multiple runners in the event.
MISS BLACK DIAMOND (S Logan) – Jumped awkwardly and bumped.
NO I’M NOT (D Hirini) – Bumped at the start.
TIME TO BACA (D Barton) – Jumped awkwardly and bumped.
ACHACHA (A Sweeney) – Steadied off heels at the 350m. Lay in under pressure at the 100m.
MR NUNEZ (D Gillett) – Jumped awkwardly.
RED EXTREME (J Todd) – Bumped at the start. Cast near-hind shoe in running.
