Race 1: Motlop Constructions TROBIS Handicap 0-58 – 1300m

SIGNOR BILL (P Shiers) – Slow into stride and steadied shortly after the start.

SABOR (V Arnott) – Commenced awkwardly.

TIME TO BACA (D Barton) – Raced wide from the 650m. Lay inwards when tested with the whip with the rider having to stop and straighten her mount leaving the 150m.

ASTERN MAGIC (D Gillett) – Cast the near-hind plate in running.

NEW ENTERPRISE (A Sweeney) – Commenced awkwardly.

HEROIC SPIRIT (J Todd) – Raced wide throughout. Rider reported when placed under pressure his mount lay outwards from the 600m and as a result finished towards the outside rail in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Race 2: BTC Constructions Handicap – 1300m

Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

As jockey R Vigar was unable to make the allotted weight he was replaced as the rider of PEEL THE STICKERS by P Shiers.

BOLDINHO (J Todd) – Bumped at the start.

CONVINCEBILITY (D Gillett) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

AWASH (W Davis) – Bumped at the start.

GLOBAL WONDER (A Sweeney) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 3: Ladbrokes Popular SRM Maiden Plate SW – 1200m

MR NUNEZ (D Barton) – Shifted ground inwards under pressure inside the final 100m.

GOOD ONYA DARL (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly. When questioned rider advised that as his mount was having its first start at the track the mare resented the kickback after not having enough early speed to race in a forward position. The veterinarian reported the mare had returned after the race with a haematoma on the near shoulder.

JUELENE (S Logan) – Slow into stride.

MY REWARD (R Vigar) – Raced wide for the majority of the event.

Race 4: Chris Williams Jewellers Handicap C2 – 1100m

FAST FREEZE (D Hirini) – Raced wide throughout.

MISS BLACK DIAMOND (S Logan) – Crowded for room and eased near the 700m.

PEACE BABY (D Gillett) – Bumped and crowded near the 1000m.

SIMPLY JUST (A Sweeney) – Bumped with another runner near the 1000m. Following the poor performance a post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near-fore leg. As the gelding has returned lame in this leg following consecutive race starts, trainer C Pollard was advised that prior to racing or trialling again a veterinary clearance including the results of x-rays must be provided.

General – On inquiry jockey J Todd (ALL INCLUSIVE) was reprimanded for careless riding for permitting his mount to shift inwards near the 700m when not fully clear resulting in MISS BLACK DIAMOND (S Logan) being crowded for room and eased.

Race 5: BKM Projects Mile 0-64 – 1600m

Stewards interviewed trainer C Pollard in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.

VIERI (S Logan) – Commenced awkwardly.

JULY (D Barton) – Raced wide throughout.

CEE PEE ONE (D Hirini) – Dwelt at the start. Blocked for clear running over the final 200m.

FULL DAMAGE (A Sweeney) – Following the unplaced performance a veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off-hind leg. Trainer C Pollard must present a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to racing again.

All riders were breath tested for the presence of alcohol.

Post-race swab samples taken from all winners.

Pre-race samples were taken from: ACIERTO, SIGNOR BILL, AWASH, JUST ALBERT, GOOD ONYA DARL & SIMPLY JUST.

Race 4 – Jockey J Todd was reprimanded for careless riding, AR131(a).

Fines:

Race 2 – Trainer G Clarke was fined $100 for presenting AWASH with the incorrect gear, AR106.

Race 2 – Jockey R Vigar was fined $300 for being overweight and replaced, AR190(3).

Embargoes & Warnings:

Race 4 - SIMPLY JUST – Lame near-fore, vet clearance including x-ray results must be provided prior to racing or trialling again.

Race 5 - FULL DAMAGE – Lame off-hind, vet clearance required prior to racing or trialling again.
