The track had received 107ml of rain in the last 7 days including 16 ml overnight. NTJA members initially raised concerns with the Stewards during track work that the track surface was inconsistent.

Remedial work was carried out on the track and a number of horses were worked on the course proper at 12 noon. Following consultation and a track inspection involving the Stewards and members of the NTJA, it was determined that the surface had not improved sufficiently for the races to proceed safely and the Stewards abandoned the race meeting at 12.48pm.

This decision was disseminated.
