As jockey S Logan suffered an injury to the pelvis in this incident, she was stabilised by the on course Paramedics and transported to RDH. When JUMPING POWER TWO was riderless, the gelding breached the outside running rail in the 1300m chute and escaped the confines of the racecourse. After being recaptured without further incident and when returned to the race day stalls, the gelding underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared of any injury. Trainer T Logan was advised that the gelding must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards on (2) occasions prior to racing again.
The gelding was declared a late scratching at 3.23pm. The following betting deductions were applicable to all successful bets placed prior to 3.23pm.
27c win, 30c place & 19c place
Whilst the Paramedics were attending to the jockey S Logan, there was a significant delay in the process of removing the remaining horses from the barriers due to OHS considerations. When all other runners were safely removed out of the barriers they were led back to the race day stalls and underwent veterinary examinations. Stewards consulted with the trainers and jockeys of each runner and after all horses were cleared to compete by the veterinarian, the decision was made to continue to run this event.
