General: Subsequent to a final inspection of the 1200m chute with a number of senior riders at 8:00am this morning, Stewards altered the distance of this race to 1000m acting under AR21(f)(ii) due to sections of the chute being unsafe as a result of continual rainfall during the week.

General: Subsequent to this event, J Philpot, rider of the 4th placegetter (ARTISTIC FLAIR), lodged a protest against the 2nd placegetter STANDARD STREET (L Maloney) alleging interference leaving the 200m. After taking evidence from all parties, Stewards dismissed the protest and ordered all placings to stand.
General: Subsequent to this event, Stewards inquired into an incident leaving the 200m where several runners were tightened for room losing ground. Evidence was taken from riders J Philpot (ARTISTIC FLAIR), R Vigar (PRICE SHARE) and Apprentice L Maloney (STANDARD STREET) in the presence of senior rider P Denton. Subsequently, L Maloney pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a). The specifics being that leaving the 200m he allowed his mount to shift ground inwards when insufficiently clear taking PRICE SHARE inwards onto ARTISTIC FLAIR which was tightened for room along the rails having to take hold and lose ground.
