General: Trainer G Connor was interviewed as to the continued riding instructions to his rider to ride the gelding cold early and allow it to get well back in the field. Mr Connor advised that the gelding can jump and go forward if allowed but will begin to race too fiercely leaving the gelding flat at the finish. Whilst he acknowledges that instructing his rider to get well back in a race, is not common practice, the gelding is suited to racing well back left alone before running home strong. Mr Connors explanation was noted.
