DESERT MIST (J Todd) – Declared a late scratching at 12.47pm due to being lame in the off fore leg. Trainer G Clarke was advised he must present a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to racing again.

ITWASONLYAKISS (V Arnott) – Bumped at the start. Shifted outwards under pressure over the concluding stages.

PATYEP (A Sweeney) – Bumped at the start. Shifted inwards under pressure near the 200m with the rider having to stop and straighten his mount.

Race 4: ROANT Handicap C2 – 1200m

AQUA BLUE (D Barton) – Declared a scratching prior to 8.00am due to being lame in the off-fore leg. Trainer C Pollard was advised he must present a veterinary clearance for the filly prior to racing again.

ECCLESTONE (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. When questioned regarding the performance of the short priced favourite, rider advised after losing ground at the start his mount travelled comfortably in running but in his opinion may not have appreciated the heavy weight impost and therefore did not finish the race off as anticipated. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have an elevated heart rate and to have sustained superficial abrasions to the off-hind stifle.
