General - As apprentice D Barton was indisposed the following riding replacements were approved by the Stewards prior to race morning.

Race 1: Ladbrokes Big Bets Handicap 0-66 - 1200m

FLYING START (D Hirini) – Began awkwardly.

VERBOSITY (I Luximon) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Lay in under pressure from the 200m.

DANIHER (J Booth) – Began awkwardly and raced wide throughout.

POMPEII EMPIRE (D Gillett) – Lay inwards under pressure from the top of the straight.

LIMITED RISK (J Doyle) – Crowded for room between runners on jumping. Steadied off heels near the 800m when racing forward and steadied outwards off heels at the 400m to obtain clear running.

MODS (A Sweeney) – When questioned about the geldings disappointing performance, rider reported that the gelding worked too hard early to try and maintain a forward position over the 1200m and in his opinion, the gelding is more suited over a shorter distance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.

THE FINAL WORD (J Todd) – Began awkwardly.

KIEFFER (J Booth) – Failed to muster early speed losing ground early. Raced wide entering the home straight.

HEBEL (A Sweeney) – Raced wide throughout.

LEAN ON ME (L Maloney) – Fractious in the barriers.

LUCKY FORTUNA (J Doyle) – Began awkwardly.

PEACE BABY (R Vigar) – Slow into stride.

Race 3: Wadelec NT Handicap C2 - 1100m

Trainer D Leech was interviewed in regards to the riding instructions he intended to issue his riders as he had multiple runners in this event.

STANDARD STREET declared a late scratching at 12:52pm on veterinary advice after a mishap in the day stalls resulted in the filly sustaining a laceration to the near hind fetlock.

HIGHLANDS (J Philpot) – Knuckled slightly on jumping shifting inwards and bumping with a runner. Taken outwards by another runner shortly after jumping and bumping with a runner.

BLACK COAL (J Todd) – Began awkwardly.

PUB CRAWL (J Doyle) – Crowded for room between runners on jumping and raced wide entering the home straight.

OUR SQUAMOSA (I Luximon) – Began awkwardly and raced wide throughout.

Race 4: The Cabinet Shop Handicap – 1100m

FLYING YISHU (D Hirini) – Began awkwardly bumping with another runner. Lay in under pressure down the straight.

O’TYCOON (P Denton) – Began awkwardly.

MATHEMATICS (A Sweeney) – Began awkwardly bumping with another runner and losing some ground.

CHIEF WHITE SOCK (D Gillett) – Slow into stride bumping with another runner.

BOSS SHELBY (J Booth) – Raced wide throughout.

ROSEBUD LASS (J Philpot) – Shifted inwards under pressure passing the 200m.

SHA NA NA (J Doyle) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

TAORMINA DUCHESS (P Denton) – Began awkwardly.

VALABING (J Todd) – Began awkwardly bumping with another runner.

GAME COVE (D Hirini) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

OURANIA (D Hirini) – Shifted inwards approaching the 1400m.

MUMMSIE (L Maloney) – Began awkwardly and dipped shortly after. Raced wide throughout.

BECQUEREL (J Doyle) – Slow into stride and raced wide entering the home straight.

NASHA (R Vigar) – Taken inwards by another runner having to momentarily steady off heels losing some ground. Shifted inwards under pressure concluding stages.

General: On inquiry, D Hirini (OURANIA) was reprimanded for careless riding under AR131 for allowing her mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear causing R Vigar (NASHA) to steady off heels losing some ground.

Trainer K Petrick was interviewed in regards to the riding instructions she intended to issue her riders as she had multiple runners in this event.
