ARTISTIC FLAIR (S Tsaikos) – Commenced awkwardly. Rider reported his mount was under pressure from the 200m and compounded over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Trainer R Viney reported the gelding will be sent for a spell.
PRICE SHARE (I Luximon) – Raced wide throughout.

Prior to correct weight apprentice D Gillett (GREAT BUY) viewed the patrol vision in the home straight but did not proceed with lodging a protest.
BEYOND READY (D Barton) – Bumped heavily between runners at the start, unbalancing the rider. Raced wide from the 650m.
BOY BIG (P Denton) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped, losing ground.
CONVINCEBILITY (R Vigar) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped heavily at the start.
DELAGO LAD (D Hirini) – Shifted inwards under pressure over the concluding stages.
GREAT BUY (D Gillett) – Impeded for room over the concluding stages when in restricted room.

Correct weight was delayed to allow trainer W Savage to attend the Judges box to view the photo finish image.
MISS BOOM was declared a late scratching at 2.32pm by order of the Stewards after becoming cantankerous and refusing to load into the barriers. Trainer K Healy was advised that the mare must be cleared in a jump out prior to racing again.
PUB CRAWL (J Doyle) – Tightened for room and restrained, losing ground near the 1050m. Crowded for room entering the straight.
REVOLUTION RISING (D Hirini) – Bounded and bumped at the start.
BOSS SHELBY (H Le Blanc) – Bumped, crowded and steadied at the 1050m.

LETHAL ENCOUNTER (J Todd) – Slow into stride. Rider accidentally dropped his whip near the 100m.
TAORMINA DUCHESS (P Denton) – Commenced awkwardly and veered inwards. Raced wide into the home straight.
SPLISH SPLASH (L Maloney) – Shifted inwards and bumped another runner near the 1050m.
KURIMUZON (J Philpot) – Crowded for room entering the straight.
General – On inquiry apprentice L Maloney (SPLISH SPLASH) pleaded guilty to a charge under AR131(a) of engaging in careless riding. The specifics being that whilst riding forward near the 1050m he angled his mount inwards when insufficiently clear causing BOSS SHELBY (H Le Blanc) to be bumped, crowded and steadied and PUB CRAWL (J Doyle) being tightened for room and restrained, losing ground. Apprentice L Maloney had his permit to ride in races suspended for 1 NT meeting to expire after 2 May 2026 and in addition was fined the sum of $500.

Race 4: Ladbrokes Punter Assist Handicap 0-66 – 1100m
Prior to correct weight apprentice L Maloney and trainer Kerry Petrick (BLACK ZOUS) viewed the patrol vision in the home straight but did not proceed with lodging a protest.
BLACK ZOUS (L Maloney) – Crowded and steadied over the concluding stages losing ground.
CAP TEN (I Luximon) – Bumped with another runner on the winning post and steadied.
General – On inquiry jockey D Hirini (SCISSOR ME TIMBERS) pleaded guilty to a charge under AR131(a) of engaging in careless riding. The specifics being that whilst riding her mount along inside the 100m she permitted the gelding to shift ground outwards when insufficiently clear resulting in BLACK ZOUS (L Maloney) being crowded and steadied, losing ground over the concluding stages. Jockey D Hirini had her license to ride in races suspended for 1 NT meeting to expire after 2 May 2026 and in addition was fined the sum of $500.

BIG GIRL BETTY (R Vigar) – Slow into stride, bumped and veered outwards. Lay outwards and raced ungenerously taking no competitive part in the event. Trainer K Healy was advised that the filly must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again.
VORONYA (P Denton) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.
HIGHSTRUNG (J Philpot) – Commenced awkwardly.
ASHEN GLOW (D Barton) – Commenced awkwardly and raced wide throughout.

All runners in this event were required to be on course 2 hours prior to the start. Stewards interviewed trainer K Petrick in relation to the riding instructions she intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners.
