SOUTHAMPTON FLARE (R Vigar) – Bumped at the start. Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Raced wide from the 600m. Cast the off-fore plate in running.
JULY (V Arnott) – Bumped and crowded at the start.
THE ALBION (J Booth) – Bumped shortly after the start. Lay inwards over the final 200m.
NO I’M NOT (D Barton) – Carried inwards and bumped shortly after the start. Shifted inwards under pressure over the final 100m.

Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as the stable had multiple runners in the event.
DEVILS DELIGHT (A Sweeney) – Shifted inwards under pressure between the 250m and the 150m.
FIELD OF FLUTES (J Todd) – Veered inwards and bumped at the start.
AWASH (J Booth) – Slow into stride and then crowded.
ORION THE HUNTER (W Davis) – Cast the near-fore plate in running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near-fore leg. Trainer J Manning must present a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to racing again.

RIVERS OF BABYLON (W Davis) – Shifted outwards under pressure from the 200m.

Race 6: Book Mother’s Day Silks Handicap 0-64 – 1100m
RUNAWAY TYCOON (J Todd) – Steadied when racing keenly near the 700m.
TIGERS ROAR (R Vigar) – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Lay outwards from the 650m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had minor abrasions to the head, near shoulder and hip and front fetlocks from its behaviour in the barriers.
KALIMNA VIEWS (J Booth) – Slow into stride.
MISS BLACK DIAMOND (B Cray) – Bumped at the start. Restrained from heels when racing keenly near the 650m.
VIACONI (D Barton) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Shifted outwards across heels when racing keenly near the 650m. Bumped by another runner and unbalanced on straightening.
SELF SERVE (H Le Blanc) – Steadied passing the 650m. Carried outwards rounding the home turn and became unbalanced after contacting the hindquarters of another runner.
General – On inquiry it was established that TIGERS ROAR (R Vigar) lay outwards rounding the home turn resulting in interference to SELF SERVE (H Le Blanc) and VIACONI (D Barton). Stewards were satisfied that no rider had ridden carelessly in this incident.
