Race 1: Courtyard by Marriott TROBIS 3YO Handicap 0-64 – 1600m
LAWS WARS (D Barton) – Bumped heavily on jumping unbalancing the rider. Over raced in the middle stages. Lost an off-hind plate during running.
AGGRESSIVE (I Luximon) – Raced wide throughout.
GRINZINGER TUNDRA (S Tsaikos) – Lost a near-hind plate during running.
ANTHONY (L Maloney) – When leaving the mounting enclosure to do a preliminary the gelding struck the outside rail with its rider being dislodged. The gelding was quickly re-mounted and proceeded to the barrier, where it underwent a veterinary examination and passed fit to take its place in the field. Rider was cleared to ride. Difficult to load. Shifted inwards on jumping bumping heavily with another runner. Trainer P Johnston advised that the gelding would now go for a spell.
PRICE SHARE (J Todd) – Slow into stride and tailed the field throughout. When questioned rider explained that the gelding felt uncomfortable in running and despite his efforts to ride the gelding along it did not respond. Subsequently the horse underwent a veterinary examination with no apparent abnormalities revealed. When questioned trainer K Petrick advised that the gelding will have radiological imaging on both knees. Ms Petrick will advise the stewards of the results.

Race 2: Textum Roofing Handicap 0-66 – 1600m
HENNESSY LAD (A Sweeney) – Over raced in the early and middle stages.
MR JONES (J Hampson) – Bumped on jumping.
IKNOWHATYOUREDOING (R Vigar) – Slow to begin. Rider was reminded of his obligations under the Rules in regards to whip use, in particular regarding excessive whip use.
GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS (L Maloney) – Bumped on jumping. Raced ungenerously in the early stages.
NEW ENTERPRISE (P Shiers) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 3: Solis Real Estate Handicap 0-58 – 1300m
BIDEN TIME (J Todd) – Raced wide throughout.
MODS (D Hirini) – Slow to begin.
YAKI ISHI (C Rawiller) – Bumped shortly after the start.
MACHINE MAN (L Maloney) – Shifted in on jumping.
OCEAN’S JEN (A Sweeney) – Bumped heavily shortly after the start.
OUR SQUAMOSA (I Luximon) – Shifted in on jumping and bumped heavily.
PRIVATE TENDER (R Bensley) – Raced wide throughout.
STANDARD STREET (S Tsaikos) – Rider reported that the filly was inclined to shift ground outwards and had difficulty negotiating the 600m turn. Laid out badly at the 400m, getting its head up and racing erratically. Trainer K Petrick advised it was her intention to have the mare fully vetted. In light of it’s racing behaviour Stewards advised Ms Petrick that the filly would be required to trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards before racing again.

Race 4: Frontier Hotel & Punters Bar Handicap 0-76 – 1300m
THE GIRL’S BOY (L Maloney) – Angled out approaching the 100m to obtain clear running.
MAGARTEN (I Luximon) – Slow away, dwelt at the start losing ground. Raced wide throughout.
HEBEL (D Gillett) – Fractious in the barrier prior to the start.

Race 5: Novotel Darwin Handicap 0-62 – 1200m
CAP TEN (I Luximon) – Rider reported that the gelding did not feel comfortable during the race. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed the gelding had an elevated heart rate and a laceration to the near hind leg.
RHESUS (W Davis) – On jumping was severely checked when tightened between runners. Lost an off-hind plate during running.
ITWASONLYAKISS (V Arnott) – Commenced awkwardly and shifted out and bumped heavily, losing ground.
GENERAL – On jumping CAP TEN (I Luximon) shifted inwards as ITWASONLYAKISS (V Arnott) commenced awkwardly and shifted outwards. RHESUS (W Davis) was severely interfered with and lost ground. In this incident ITWASONLYAKISS was also severely inconvenienced. Whilst accepting that CAP TEN had commenced awkwardly and shifted in jockey I Luximon was strongly advised under the circumstances he is to make every effort to keep his mount straight.
1ST GALAXY GENERAL 2ND MONTJUIC MAGIC 3RD I LOVERAIN
Race 6: Northcrest Handicap 0-70 – 1100m
BRUNO BRUNO (R Vigar) – Fractious in the barriers prior to start. Lay outwards on straightening, and passing the 200m brushed another runner. Jockey R Vigar was strongly advised that in similar circumstances he is expected to make a greater effort to keep his mount straight.
WALLENDA (J Todd) – Veered outwards on jumping. Carried outwards and brushed passing the 200m.
REAL VALENTIA (J Hampson) – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
FRAWLEY (W D’Avila) – Commenced awkwardly. Over raced in the middle stages. Despite the efforts of its rider, lay outwards from the 600m. Rider reported that the horse appeared to lock its jaw at that stage of the race and consequently lay outwards. When questioned Trainer P Cole advised that in his opinion the gelding was not suited to the lugging bit used today, and he would now revert back to the gelding’s original lugging bit after ensuring it is satisfactory in trackwork.

Race 7: DCOH Defence Industry Open – 1100m
REWARDS AND MORE (S Tsaikos) – Cast both hind plates in running.
BON’S PRIDE (V Arnott) – Slow to begin. Leaving the 500m momentarily steadied when racing in restricted room. Rider was reminded of her obligations under the Rules in regards to whip use, in particular regarding excessive whip use.
SHIRSHOV (J Todd) – Over raced in the early and middle stages.
1ST BALASTIER 2ND BON’S PRIDE 3RD ZOURATA
Race 8: DCOH Civic Handicap BMNT – 1600m
VENTING (L Maloney) – Approaching the turn into the straight commenced to lay outwards and raced wide on the track.
PRINCE JOFRA (P Shiers) – Raced wide entering the home straight.
SHISUTA BO (I Luximon) – Slow to begin. Lay outwards under pressure in the straight.
AWASH (J Todd) – Steadied when racing in restricted room near the 75m.
WINE BARRON (J Bowditch) – Rider reported that the gelding did not stretch out and in his opinion the gelding did not feel sound behind. A veterinary examination reported that the gelding had returned with an elevated heart rate. Trainer M Hickmott advised the stewards that he will monitor the recovery of the gelding and would advise the stewards accordingly. M Hickmott also advised that he would give consideration to the gelding’s future racing program.
MAXXI BON (R Bensley) – Slow into stride. A veterinary examination revealed the gelding had an elevated heart rate.

Race 9: DCOH Darwin Guineas SW 3YO – 1600m
CRAZY TOWN (R Bensley) – Dwelt at the start losing ground. Raced wide from 600m.
EASY RED (H Le Blanc) – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
LEVERAGED BUYOUT (J Hampson) – Commenced awkwardly. Brushed the running rail near 600m.
MALDINI (J Lyon) – Passing 1000m the gelding commenced to over race and raced tightly with another runner and steadied away from heels.
MERIMBULA (J Todd) – Shortly after the start was bumped and crowded.
PLEASING SMILE (W D’Avila) – On jumping, shifted outwards.
RIVERS OF BABYLON (W Davis) – Shifted outwards shortly after the start and bumped.
MORGANA (J Bowditch) – Bumped and raced tightly 75m after the start.
